I'm trying to apply for jobs, but a 12 year gap is hindering my prospects,.. (depression - don't ask),.. how can I safely tell a 'white-lie' in order to stand a more realistic chance of getting a job? Any constructive ideas welcome, but if you're gonna be smarmy and/or sarcastic, then please don't bother. I really need some creative, sensible & intelligent responses, thankyou.

I was never one of those kids that knew what they wanted to be when they grew up. This is what i do know. I want to work during normal business hours with little to no overtime. I do not want to travel. I get bored very easily, and would like to have a career that doesnt leave me doing the exact same thing every day. Any suggestions. Serious ones please. Please remember, Im looking for a career, not a go nowhere job. Thanks.

Can an employer force a minor to clean out garbage cans, clean bathrooms, and other tasks not in job description. I work as an Usher for a movie theater, and they keep creating jobs for us to do while working, none of which were told to me when I was hired. Any online references would help greatly.

I clean house for a lady (who incidently is disabled), whose husband tells her NOT to use me and says that HE will clean the house. He rarely does it to the lady's satisfaction. Now she is ringing me up telling me to come when her husband is out. Trouble is, I HATE cleaning for her as she is soooo fussy!!
What would you do?

Ok First of all I live in upstate, New York, so it has to be NY's Labor laws. But this is what hapend.

August 2004, I get a new job at a local printing company by the name of Web Graphics in Queensbury, NY. My job was a printing press apprentices. I was learning to run a machine called a 2-up/saddle binder which made little pamphlet sized books. Ok, All is good, I am puting paper in the machine correctly, no jams, and the books come out just as they should. Two people are at the receiving end and box them up and bring them to the warehouse for shipping prep. Ok this is where the problem is, my trainer totally ignores me, and walks around to talk to other people and does not teach me anything about my job. Then after about a week or so the managers call me into there office for a "meeting" which I had a few of theese. They tell me that I am not operating the machine corectly and I should not be loading paper into it myself. Then they make a extremly sexest remark .

I am given 2 weeks off, but I hope to extend my vacation with a Dr.s Note of some kind. I am paid hourly, so I hope to just lose the pay from work with out having to file some kind of workers com/ dispablity. I would like to just show my boss a note from the doctor and say " wish I could have been here, but Doctor said not to fly for 2 weeks".

I am debating on whether to major in behavioral science or psychology. I lack about the same amount of classes in both(one year), and both sets of courses to graduate have about equal challenge. What are the bachelor's level career choices in both, pay, and opportunities?Competition for a job about the same? I also plan to minor in biology. Any suggestions? Are they about equal all around? what advantages do I have in one or the other, if any?
