I clean house for a lady (who incidently is disabled), whose husband tells her NOT to use me and says that HE will clean the house. He rarely does it to the lady's satisfaction. Now she is ringing me up telling me to come when her husband is out. Trouble is, I HATE cleaning for her as she is soooo fussy!!
What would you do?

Thankyou for all your advice, but I hate to desert her. She sounds so desperate over the phone!

If I were you, I would increase my price so that her fussiness was worth the B.S. If she does not like the new rate then you just use the fact that the times she is calling you are not meshing with your other committments and if she wants to keep using you, the hubby needs to be more supportive. I can at anytime count 5-6 of my friends that would pay for a good cleaning person. My cleaning person is so booked that she is not adding anymore clients. For that reason I am sure you can easily replace her as a client.

Do you need the money badly? If you do, then accept the job.
Every occupation has its bad bossess and customers who are unreasonable and irritable.

Your trade-off is simple - is suffering under her criticism a worse situation than not having the money in your account?

I wouldn't do it. The way I look at it is if you don't want to and you don't need the money then why put yourself through it?

If you need the money, then do it, but if you could live without it, then don't if you don't like doing it.
