How much you pay to current recipients has NOTHING to do with what you will receive. The SSA does not even keep record of your SS taxes paid. Benefits are calculated based on EARNINGS regardless of the rate at which they were taxed. There is not and never has been an account in your name.

If you are paying in to social security, you will get a statement that shows your actual contributions and your projected payout.

You usually get a statement form the SSA once a year.

CONTACT SS OFFICE AND REQUEST IT.
YOU SHOULD BE GETTING STATEMENT EACH YEAR.
