They are usually subsidized by the government, or universitys, some sell their films to news rooms or other tv stations, some have people pay to go along with them for the thrill.

That is generally not a job, at least not full time. Most of those people are meteorologists with a day job, and chasing storms can be something their job allows them to do either for research or for experience.

I believe they sell pictures and videos. It is not a typical hobby. Selling good shots and videos help to offset their expenses unless they have sponsors. I really doubt if they do because of the risk involved.

DUH! who wouldnt for a million funds. If it got here down too it i think of even the ppl that say no. could anyhow as a results of fact thats alot of freaking funds. Plus its interesting. So i could :D
