I've wanted to get involved in the medical field assiting patients ever since my grandmother died in long term care, I saw how horrible their care could sometimes be and think people deserve better. I want to start looking into what I need to do to get trained for it but I have a lot tattoos on my arms, so I'm wondering would this make it hard for me to find a job in this field? I know times have changed but theres still a lot of ignorant people out there when it comes to tattoos, I wouldn't want invest so much time and money into it if I'm not even going to be able to get a job.

I am an undergraduate[freshman] and am a pre-nursing major. I was looking over the course that I have to take and there is A LOT of biology, chemistry, and 1 or 2 statistics classes. My question is how hard is this major? To me, these classes seem very challenging. (I am REALLY bad at Math)..I'm worried about how challenging this will be.
Also....my goal is to become a CNM..certified nurse-midwife. Once I make it into then nursing program, when will I start to learn about becoming the type of nurse I want to me..instead of learning the general stuff?

So i got a promotion in Oct. I am a LVN working in a Skilled nursing facility in san diego. My boss asked me to be their new Director of Staff Development. They didn't have a nurses to take my place so I never got to get oriented to my soon to be new postion. finally at the begining of dec, my replacement came. I went to a 3 day certification class for my new job. But my boss didn't ever have me oriented to my new job in the building. I walked into blindly 2 weeks ago. The nursing assistants havent been supervised for a while now and arent responding to dicipline very well. They all went to the administrator, my boss and complained saying they are going to quit. My question is am I to blame. I am trying my best without and orientation or help from anybody. My boss told me he thinks i am not stepping up to the plate and taking over, doing my job. Told me i could easily be put back on the floor as a regular nurse. I feel very hurt and betrayed. I am trying my best and need help.

I will be a graduate nursing in May of 2008 and will be interviewing for RN positions soon. I am interviewing in hospitals and smaller offices. Should I wear a suit or just dress nicely? By dress nicely, I mean a nice pair of slacks or a skirt and a button-up collared shirt. I know the rule of thumb is to dress one step higher than what you would wear on the job, but I will be wearing scrubs so one step up is jeans to me. I'd never wear jeans to an interview! I think a suit may be too dressy, but I want to separate myself from the other people interviewing. Is it ever wrong to wear a suit? Thanks! :)

I know that there are many schools now that allow you to get a BSN online. Are there any schools that allow you to get an NP online?( legitimate schools)? How do they handle the clinical requirements for the NP. Thanks
