I am a licensed registerdnurse in Puerto Rico and soon will be relocating to FL or NY depending .. i was wondering if anybody has been through the process of getting certified in each or other state . if you have any info . please share!!

The first responder has given you the websites for the Boards of Nursing for New York and Florida. As you are applying for a license in these states with an active license in Puerto Rico which is another state or territory of the United States, you can apply for Licensure by Endorsement. You will need to submit the paperwork, which is available online at the sites the first responder listed. You should have no problem. You do not have to take any additional testing for either state.

This is of course for licensure. Certification is only in your area of spcialization by a National Certifying organization.

Remember that in ANY state, but especially NY and FL, as I have to assume you are fluent in Spanish, that will be a tremendous plus. Not sure what your specialty was as an RN, but that would also be a good thing as experience counts in the profession.
