my daughter is three months old. i know babies do what they want when they want, but when will my daughter crawl. she has been holding her head up (really good!!!) for at least a month. she is advanced ( don't all parents say that about their bay- bayes?) but it is driving me crazy. she, my daughter, dont seem to give a damn.she "stands" when you hold her. and she "talks" all the time. she is good and respopnsive.maybe i should hold my horses.

For the past few weeks, my 19 month old has been waking up every hour or two (and not every night, but about 5 days a week). She whines or gives a few wails, moves around, and goes back to sleep. Sometimes she wakes up completely. She was always a great sleeper...I cannot figure out what went wrong. Can it be possible she is having alot of nightmares? Tonight I am going to feed her alot before she goes to bed...maybe it is hunger. Does anyone else's toddler do this?

Do To Limited Space In Their Room I Thought About Bunkbeds But I Am Not Real Sure If This Would Be The Safest Way To Go.. Does Anyone Have Any Suggestions?? Do I Go With Bunkbeds Or Can Anyone Suggest Another Type Of Space Saving Sleeping Arrangement?? Thanks!!

Ok so my son had his orientation today for JK, he wasn't allowed to start in September because of a hearing and speech delay.(he was approved to go for half days, rather than full days like the other kids) Well his school is over 1km from our home and i don't drive and my son had a very terrible time walking it today saying he was tired and he couldn't do it. I'm 6months pregnant and carrying him isn't always gonna be an option. I shouldn't have been doing it today.
My hubby works so he can't drive us and most of my neighbours work so they can't drive us either.
Should i just force him to walk it? He even layed down on the ground and said he was tired and his legs hurt.
I would take his stroller but i don't want the other kids to think he is a baby and laugh at him and i really don't wanna push a stroller around for 2hrs until he gets out of school.
Does anyone have any suggestions? or should i just force him to walk it and no he doesn't have a bike or scooter or anything.
Help!!

My son has sinutitus and was given an antibiotic that NEEDS to be kept refrigerated. I called the pharmacist today and they said it becomes useless after being left out and I left it out over night the night of Thanksgiving. My son's symptoms have come back. I called my peds office today and they brushed me off and said he has asthma (which he doesnt) and said to continue giving him the meds.... I am soooo frustrated. I made an appt for tomorrow but dont know what I am going to say. HELP PLEASE - I KNOW I need to trust my instincts. What makes it worse is I worked there for a few months to get an externship and really dont want to look stupid. THANKS for any help. PLUS I feel terrible about leaving the prescription out so please don't make me feel worse!

After four months of no sleep, for my physical and mental well being, I have decided that co-sleeping with my four month old (with me and my partner) is the best solution. This is the only way he will sleep at night. I can only foresee two problems. One is that our 2-year-old will feel left out (she slept with Daddy in our bed for the last four months while I slept elsewhere to work on getting the baby in his crib) She had no problem going back to her twin bed in her own room, but I am afraid she will start feeling left out of the sleeping situation, since everyone else in the house is in one bed. We only have a Queen size so all four of us would NOT sleep comfortably in one bed.

Second, I would *eventually* like to get the baby in his own bed. Anyone had problems or successes getting baby in crib after cosleeping for several months?

My daughter is ready to start 3 yr old MDO & she MUST be potty trained to be enrolled. She has shown no interest. She doesn't care that her peers who are potty trained. We tried offering her a sucker or mini candy bar (she never gets sweets so she seemed interested, but not enough to potty). She has come close enough to start peeing on the floor after her bath. We've tried to get her to the potty during that time because we know it is likely she will go but no luck. The last thing we want to do is hold her on the potty kicking and screaming if you know what I mean:-)
We can't even get her to sit on the potty and try. She is very active so she acts like it is a waste of time & wants to do something else. Our last resort is to just take 3 days and not plan on going anyplace & just putting her in underpants. I know she will go to the bathroom on herself but maybe after doing it all day & changing her clothes all day she will want to go to the potty? Any advice on this option?

I have a 3 month old to take care of too and a job. I need tips or tricks that will keep my 2 year old from destroying the house or something that will keep him occupied, but he seems interested in everything, but his toys. I understand that he's curious and he will explore, but there needs to be a limit and I need help with enforcing that.

I watch her for 6 hours on Mondays and Tuesdays. Every time she gets sick my sister inlaw blames me.I mean she got a runny nose after Thanksgiving and my sister inlaw is mad at me for her being sick now not the 22 other people that were there. I dont know if I should just tell her to find someone else to watch her or if she is just a nervous new mom and I am the easiest person to blame. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love watching my niece and consider it a privilege to do so. So what would you do if you were in this situation

My daughter is 2 1/2 and it seems like she is sleeping too much. She sleeps around 11-12 hours at night and takes a 3-4 hour nap during the day. She is eating and growing normally. But, lately she's also been a bit grumpy.

I am by no means complaining, but I am a bit of worrier. My husband thinks she's just growing. Is this too much sleep?

Thanks for the responses.

I spent a lot of time tryinmg to come up with some practical gifts for my 22 month old for Christmas and her birthday which is one month later.
I thought of four nice gifts and will give her two at Christmas and two on her birthday. My husband seems to think we've gone over the top but I think they are good items that she will get use out of, some for years to come. I don't feel we've gotten her too much.
1. A Radio Flyer bike w/ parent steering
2. A set of blocks
3. A doll
4. A toddler sized chair and table set
Other members of the family will probably give her some things too. But her grandparents aren't the type to go too crazy.
What do you think?

My little one has loose bowels. I am pretty sure this is from teething and too much juice. I have started pedialyte and a diet high in bananas and cheese. This seems to be taking care of the stools.

But, she has diaper rash. She has never had this and it seems so awful. It is red and she cries when I change her. I am putting diaper rash ointment on and changing her very very frequently.

My question is- she has gone to sleep (she keeps a strict sleep schedule and is doing wonderful on it). Do I wake her to check her diaper and change her, or do I let her sleep? I have put ointment on and am debating which to do. Poor thing, after all this, I don't want to interrupt her sleep.

PS- she has had poo in the morning when she wakes (which she has never done). I don't know if she is going at night or right when she wakes.

My 2 year old is having sleeping issues. He won't go to bed until like 11pm, he still regularly gets up once during the night for a sippy of milk, he won't go to bed by himself (we have to lay down with him in our bed). Once he falls asleep we move him over to his bed in his room, but more times than not he ends up back in our bed. Help please!

A little while ago my family had just started eating dinner. I have 4 children. My 4 month old (John) & 3 month old (Lily) use a booster seat to reach the table. For some reason Lily's booster seat was not strapping in correctly to this type of chair and I was afraid she was going to fall out. Our family usually sits in the same seats each evening. Anyway, I wanted to see if Lily's booster seat would strap into Tessa's (2 years old) chair better because her chair was a different type. I switched the chairs and it worked so I kindly asked Tessa to use Lily's chair just for tonight. (Tessa has a "special" chair that she got for Christmas last year) -- Tessa had a fit! She screamed and slapped me. I made Tessa sit on the "naughty step" until she was ready to come back and behave. She cried and cried! Then after we finished supper I allowed Tessa to come join us and finish up. I thought her behavior was unacceptable but afterwords she behaved.
Was I too hard on her?

I need sum ideas on snacks and afters/puddings for my 2 daughters, who are 2 and 3 year old. Im looking for quite healthy ideas, no sweets etc as i like to limit sweet stuff.
My 3 year old will eat anything (she currently has snacks of any fruit.... grapes, apple, melon, banana, oranges, strawberries, etc, also snacks include cheese, limited maize crisp snacks, limited biscuits, carrot sticks, yoghurt, custard etc), whereas my 2 year old is awkward, she is fussy with lumps, especially hard lumps, (she currently snacks on cheese, banana, strawberries, limited maize snacks and biscuits, yoghurt, custard etc).
I just need a few more ideas please, thanks.

OK I always regret that my parents never pushed me to get a talent or hobby or skill or something. I am a jack of all trades but not really GOOD at anything. Now my little girl is 3. She is just a regular toddler - she does talk very well for her age apparently and tells good stories etc. Well I wanted her to learn something. Like piano or something. I do not have much money though. What would you suggest?

A lot of these famous people like tiger woods, the williams sisters etc started training when they were like 3 or 4 years old. I do not want her to be a superstar but I want her to be able to be proud that she has a talent.

I know talent is sometimes just a natural gift but I think in many cases talent can DEVELOP from putting time and effort into something. Not forcing but just encouraging her.
