What do you think is the best way to celebrate and what is the ideal present for a 1 year old?

BTW We've already organised the celebration, and have got the present, I'm just curious what everyone else thinks!

My sister told me that my child who will be 9 in april is getting chunky. It pissed me off, but then I got to wondering if she is overweight. I want her to be healthy, and def don't want her to be over weight. I looked online, but there isn't a place to check for children. Too me she looks just fine. I mean she's not bulging out any where, and she fits into normal child sizes.

She's 8 (will be 9 in april)
weight: 74lbs
height : 4 ft 3 inches

I like to think that one mans trash is another mans treasure. While I don't go digging through dumpsters, I've made my boyfriend stop (much to his embarrassment) if I see something (furniture, ect...) beside a dumpster that may be useful to me.

My cat diggs through the garbage at home and pulls the lids off and drags garbage around the kitchen.

Yesterday, I caught my son who is 3 digging through the garbage. I was speechless and just took him to wash up and play in his room. Is this just one of weird things kids do or did he learn it from me or is it most likley the cat? What can I do so he doesn't do it again? I've found some pretty neat stuff next to dumpters that I have fixed up and if I wait until he is not with me it may be too late and whatever it is will be gone.

My 2 year old nephew barley speaks. He only says mama, dada and bye. He is working with a speech therapist once a month. What can I do to help him. His parents don't ever read books to him. I bring over books to read with him but he doesn't seem interested in them. What type of books are good for a child with a delay speech? Is there any good books on how to help a child with a speech delay. Thanks for your help.

Please someone, I need someone who has actually experienced this. My four year old niece won't try anything new. All she eats is processed chicken nuggets, hotdogs, and lunchmeat. That's IT. If you're going to say it's okay, leave now. She will not try anything and her health is not that good. I just need to know how to get her to eat different things. When we put stuff in her mouth for her to try, and she chokes and gags on them and acts like she's dieing. She tries to spit the food out with everything she has and cries. I need serious help, so don't tell me she'll be fine because she DOES need help. She should at least be eating hotdogs on buns and lunchmeat on sandwhiches.

How much do we give our daughter for her first baby tooth she's about to lose?

I want to point out first of all that I do plan on discussing this with her pediatrician next week.

My daughter is 4 years old, beautifully bright, and has determined of her own accord that she does not want to eat animals. I have asked her to eat meat, and she will do it, but she cries quietly the entire time and says she is mourning for the animal. She is not throwing a temper tantrum, she is simply very sympathetic and loving and feels emotions very strongly and maturely for her age.

Will not eating meat deprive her of any nutrients that she needs? And is there anyway to supplement these nutrients another way?

No matter howmuchever i try to please them, they refuse to eat. They like pizzas, burgers and junk food. My husband is very strict and discourages eating those stuff. I give these once in a while. My three year old son is still wetting his pants. Is there anyone out there with advice? What should I do to help him stop this?

2007-11-21 10:41:09 · 5 answers · asked by Rosie E 2

This is for a novel that I am writing.

This little girl is 7yrs old.. Her name is Lily. She was raised by a man named paul, who exploits her abilities for his own selfish gain.

Lily is taught to obey commands from someone she considers as poweful. She obeys Paul's every command, like a dog. She has been used to kill innocent people, even her own mother.

When Paul was arrested for kidnapping and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Lily was asleep at the time. She was taken to a childrens home. When she wakes up, she realizes that her master isnt here. She threatens to kill the other children if noone takes her to him. The staff injected some drug that calms her down. Lily doesnt want to play with the other children. She's always alone.

The other children are afraid of her, so if she see people run away from her, she gets apprehensive.

She's 7 yr old, and she can barely speak. I think the only word she can say is "Master" nothing else.

How would you describe this girl?

Despite being called "his pet". she actually takes that as a sign of love. She really shows affection for him. Paul is the only one she knows.

She doesnt know what a mommy or daddy is. She can't talk at all.

Do you guys think she has a mental disorder? If so what Is it and how can it be treated?

How would you describe this little girl in one word?

please note that this is fiction. It's for a novel.

You dont have to describe her in one word, as many words as possible.

Oh when it rains it pours!!! Sister, daughter in-law and now my hubby's old black lab. We've had him for 17 years!! Got him at 6 weeks old. Today he fell 3 times--I pick him up and get him on his feet again--he toddles about and falls. Hubby will come home and Bear will lie by his side. I can't stand to have an animal "put down", but I know 90% of the time the old guy is miserable--but then he gets a spark and is happy. I guess I know what needs to be done but----how do I let hubby know it's time to let his buddy of 17 years go!!?? The old guy is like a kid to us!!!!

My 5 year old is Autistic. Before when people noticed his"bad" behavior, I guess they didn't stare because they thought it was just his age, now people stare, roll their eyes at me or worse him. I want to strangle these people! They hurt my feelings by treating him like he is an out of control animal or something. I really need some advise on how to deal with this, please!! He is still my baby, why are so many people so cruel?

My son is almost 6 months old. He has been exclusively on breast milk but he takes it from a bottle, as he wouldn't latch onto my nipple. I pump everyday, every 4 - 6 hours. I get up at 5am to pump every morning. Its ok, I am kind of used to it now but he is coming up to that age when solids should be introduced and I am wondering if I should start to pump less when that happens and if I should work towards just giving him a bottle of breast milk at night and one in the morning. I know that up until 6 months breast milk is all a child needs BUT I think my main question is, after they reach 6 months how much breast milk do they need?

My son is eighteen months old and can't stand unless he pulls up on something. He "runs" on his hands and feet but won't walk. He is walking around furniture. He will walk when someone is holding his hand but he is very unsteady. He just can't get his balance.

He "talks" normally for his age and does everything else appropriate to his age. There are no signs of Autism.

I have seen his doctor who told me to come back in two months if he still won't walk. They will test him for problems then.

Has anyone else experienced this with their child? He is getting medical attention and I don't need advice about that. I just want to know how people FINALLY got their late-walking babies to develope balance and start walking on their own.

Thanks!
