So,my 2 yeard old will not eat.He eats something everyday, but barely. He drinks fine, but refuses the majority of what we give him.He eats only pizza, corndogs,or chicken. We dont often have junk food for dinner, but our meals arent tofu and seaweed either. His energy is fine,he runs around like a madman all day,and his growth is right on target. The DR says to just let him eat how much and what he wants, not to force him, since hes growing fine and isnt lethargic.Just wondering if this is normal for him to live off juice and air.

She eats at daycare I think because all her little friend are at the roundtable so it's more fun. At home, I can only get her to eat pizza and chicken nuggets. Maybe some fruit like bananas, apples, mandarin oranges, peaches. She won't TOUCH veggies.

What to do? She can't eat pizza everday!

He was taken to the Dr yesterday & diagnosed w/ a virus and we were told to treat the symptoms----Tylenol for the fever & Robitussin for the cough.

During the day, he is fine. Feels great, no fever. At night, it's a totally different story.

Last night, his fever spiked to 104.2' around 12:30am. We gave him a lukewarm bath (which he screamed bloody murder about), Tylenol and a popsicle. His fever dropped but never dipped below 102'.

At 5am this morning, his fever was up to 102.4'.

Honestly, I'd be happy to just get his temp down to about 100' or so. I am tapped out of ideas.

Help!

I have a 5 yr old son who kills every living thing he touches... We know he has something against dogs, we don't know what or why, but other animals he seems to have a distaste for as well. He is just plain mean to them or way too rough with them. Any suggestions on what to do about this or what it might be?

My son was born 6 weeks early due to placenta previa, weighing only 4lbs 9ounces. he was in intensive care for 2 weeks. when he was 10 months old, he started having seizures. After his 3rd one, the neurolologist put him on phenobarbital. At that time, we had early intervention come into our home and do PT,OT and eventually speech therapy with him. he did not start to crawl until he was over 2 years old. the therapists are having a hard time with him because he has very high muscle tone. he does stand now, but won't stay standing, instead jumping up and down. he does alot of rocking back and forth when he sits. he will be 3 yr old in january and he is not talking or walking yet. he just had a seizure last week after going 1yr 9mths without one. we have been to developmental clinics and neurologists and no one seems to know what is wrong with my son, saying they don't do testing until they are 3 yr old. i'm just frustated and just would like some answers. thanks

Here is whats happening:
My daughter has been really fussy lately, more so than usual. At first we thought it was just a bug because she had a runny nose and diarrhea along with a few other things. We were completely convinced she had a belly ache even though she couldnt tell us that. Well things have been really wierd these last few days. Still diarrhea and boogers but she has started to poop out everything that she eats still in its whole form. I know that i should expect that from some foods like corn but I mean its everything. Apples, olives, chicken, its all whole when it comes out. Is this normal? Should i be worried? The BM problems could be their own seperate thing and the sinus thing its own but I'm starting to really worried because she isnt eating very much or drinking much. We have been giving her pedialyte and pediacare to keep her hydrated. Any ideas or advice?

My niece is here staying with me until Sunday evening. Today (Tuesday), Wednesday, and Sunday I need some activities to with her. So far we have done everything I can think of.
-Dress up.
-Tea Party
-Watched TV
-Play Dolls
-Talked.
-etc.

I need some new easy things that can keep her occupied for a while, or at least for the next couple of hours and other two days that I will be having her alone.

Its storming so doing something outdoors at this time is not an option.

She is three.

Thank you.

Doesn't say any REAL words? He does understand what a lot of objects are. My ped said that they will be looking for him to say at least 3 words by the time he's 15 mo. I had a child care provider say he should know at least 15 words by now and it didn't make me feel too good. I do know every child is different and there might be some kids his age who can say that much but I think that's high expectations. I'm really not personally worried about him but I just needed some experienced moms to give me some relief of stupid comments people make! I'm a first time mommy.

My 17 month old son climbed out of his crib this afternoon. Everybody says once they start that you need to move them to a twin bed. He really hates to sleep and I know that this is going to be a struggle. I don't think he is mature enough...does anyone have any suggestions?

My daughter is 2 years and 1 month and up until 2 weeks ago would go to bed every night at 7pm and sleep right through. no trouble. But for the last two weeks she wont go to bed and end up falling asleep around midnight (sometimes 1am) through sheer exhaustion. she wakes up every 3 hours and wants someone to sit next to her bed while she falls asleep again. i have tried literally everything inc controlled crying, letting her cry it out etc and nothing is working. I have a 12 week baby to look after to so its difficult when im tired. my partner helps out best he can but he too need sleep. i talked to my health visitor and she said just keep putting her bk to bed which im doing. I'm seeing her this thursday and was wondering if anyone thinks she would let me give her phenergan once so she can have a good nights sleep? Has anyone else used phenergan on their child?

I have read all the questions that have been asked pertaining to this issue and I did not see one that fit perfectly with my problem. Almost 4 weeks ago, we set up a big boy bed for my 21 month old son. He was excited about the bed at first, and we spent several nights laying down with him until he fell asleep. It's now 3 weeks later and we are still laying down with him. We do all the normal bedtime unwinding rituals and he is very sleepy when it's time to go to bed. But the minute you tuck him in and leave the room, he gets up and is banging on the door crying and screaming. We thought after a few weeks of laying down with him, that he would be ok on his own. He was a perfect sleeper in his crib. But now I'm starting to believe that we have fostered a bad trend by laying down with him for so long. Now he expects it, and wakes up 1-3 times during the night screaming and banging on the door. I remember we had to let him "cry it out" with the crib. Is this the same issue?

See my son like stays sick and it is from school. He has missed so many days this year and they are telling me they are going to fine me if he misses anymore this quarter. Well it is like this, when he is sick i keep him home then when i send him to school and he gets sick there they call me to come and get him which i do but then whines when he misses but he is sick.
What am i to do? I am damned if i do and damned if i don't.

My son was never sick until he started school. He had never been in the hospital besides birth until he went to school, ended up in the hospital for pnuemonia.

Would you just go ahead and homeschool your child if they stayed sick all the time from going to school?

i am trying to wean and/or transition to a cup. baby will take 2 bottles (8 ounces total per day max) from grandma and the baby sitter, but only from a bottle with a gerber orthontics rubber nipple. i have tried all sorts of bottles/nipples shape, sippy cups, colored bottle, not see through, heated various temps and cool, iced, blended with fruit, rice milk, soy milk, flavored soy, mixed breastmilk combo. when my husband or i give her any sort of milk in the sippy cup, cup without lid, or bottle, she will not drink it. she will drink water and juice from a sippy cup or bottle from everyone. we can feed her cheese and yogart. this is making weaning hard and transitioning from bottle to cup hard. any other advice on me, the mother (or father) getting her to drink milk? she is small, in the 7th percentile of the growth chart. PLEASE HELP!
