Put a gate across his room. He shouldn't be able to climb it. Good luck.

Keep doing what you are doing, bring him right back to bed. Eventually he will give up trying. You will be very tired and frustrated at first, but it wont be long that you are enjoying sleeping through the night again.

I agree, keep putting him back to his own bed. Maybe do a reward program with stars or something and when he gets so many stars he gets a prize. The prize thing works well with little ones..

Explain to him why it's important for him to be a big boy and remain in his bed. And each time make him go back until he gets the picture.

sure why should he stop when you reward him every time... tell him "Tonight you are going to sleep in your own room in your own bed..." and be firm about it...if he comes into your room once - tell him to leave - do NOT go with him back to his room - this is a reward.. as long as he gets ANY reward - no matter how small he will continue to do this..
tell him to leave - and get firmer and firmer in your voice.. even if you have to yell... GET OUT!!!!!
lock your door as a last resort.
it sounds mean.. I know but if you are "nice" about it then why will he stop?
and quit talking baby talk... I mean "da middle of da night" what is that about???

Learn grammar.
Second, you keep doing what you're doing. Pick him up and put him back 500 times without fail. Even if you're up all night doing it, pick him up, tell him its night time, put him in his bed. Repeat.
He will learn he's fine in there and he can put himself back to sleep on his own, just be consistent.
