Just like what was stated before, all babies are different. My son was almost two before he said anything. The doctors had me a nervous wreck before it was determined that he just didn't want to talk before than. Plain and simple. I thought I was doing something wrong since he was my first born. After having four kids in all, I figured out that they all mature at different stages at everything. So your baby boy is very normal. Enjoy him because he will grow very fast.

Has he had a lot of ear infections? My son wasn't overly talkative either at that age, but at 15 months we had tubes installed in his ears. All of the sudden he could hear, and began talking immediately. But the biggest step came at 2 yrs. That's when the chick left the nest.

If he hasn't had ear infections, I'd ask my pediatrician to run a tympanogram--it sends sounds into the child's ears and measures how well the sounds are bouncing off the eardrum. He'll be able to tell if your child is hearing as he should.

Share with your pediatrician your worries and ask his opinion.

I think when the time is right, and he feels more comfortable you wont be able to make he stop talking, just relax and enjoy every moment of his life
