and am wondering how much exposure to other children he needs.? I moved to a new place about 8 months ago and friends are few and far between. I have been with him almost his entire life. (hardly any day care) People are always saying negative things about him not being in preschool or daycare but I don't really see why that matters all that much. My son is very intelligent ,but is also very hypersensitive. I am really worried about his social skills and his seperation anxiety. . Any advice with someone who is in the same situation or was in this situtation. What should I do? And no I am not planning on having any more children.

My 2 yr old daughter tripped over her twin brothers scooter and fell pretty hard 2 days ago.. She bled for awhile and has a cut in her bottom lip, but her gums above her teeth (upper mouth) is now purple.. Will this go away by itself or did the damage some nerves/permanent teeth???
I haven't taken her to a dentist yet because he absolutely HATES doctors and freaks out..
Anyone out there with some good advice for me..

We have decided after a few changes in our life, we can not have our dog any longer. We are giving her to my sis-in-law who works in a special needs home (where the dog has been to visit & loved it). So we are going to donate her there, were she can have all the play time and attention that a wonderful Shih tzu needs. The problem is, my 3 yr old daughter is not adapting to the idea (even though she doesnt interact with our dog often). I told her that "we are going to let the doggy go live with the sick people so she can help them get better and you can visit her anytime".. but in response we're getting "no shes my puppy" with a sad lil heartbroken face. I am not sure what to do. We are tryin to do whats best for our family and the dog, and after long talks this is the way to go. I just dont know how to handle this regarding my daughter. I dont want to hurt her, this is hard enough for all of us, but we plan on doing this by Xmas. Advise anyone? Please...

My son is almost 4, he went to karate only a few times and wants to quit.

There are two senseis that teach the class and he is afraid of the woman one. A kid in the class likes to provoke him and gets in his face and the last time he pushed my son and my son smacked him and no one saw the other child push him so I guess no one defended my son, he was scolded by the mom and sensei. I tried to stay out of it but the teacher said "if you hit again you're going to have to go home!" He got really upset and started to cry and came out of the class and never wants to return. (I later on found out from my mother that she witnessed the whole thing that the kid pushed him first)

There is no way of telling who will be the teacher on which day, he prefers the guy sensei but everytime we have gone lately it's been the woman.

What should I do? I know quiting is not good but how can I make a not even 4 yr old understand that he has to stick it out.

My 2 year old goes to her grandparents 1 day a week whilst I do some charity work but for the past few weeks is refusing to go. I went with her today and I wonder if its possible for her to be bored there because the things they do with seem dull and they are still giving her toys that she had when she was first born?
Any ideas

my son is two years old. unfortnely we share the same room. its me ,my bf, daughter and son. i don't think it has anything to do with sharing a room. My son wakes up even out of his naps crying. He sometimes wakes up in the middle night and sits up crying.its pretty quiet for the most part and they don't wake up to eachother. my daughter cries for a few mintues for a bottle but goes back to sleep. does anyone know how i can make him feel better. not to mention he likes sleeping in our bed

I have noticed in the past couple of weeks my 16 month old son prefers to walk on his tippy toes, rather than flat feet

but at the same time his right foot sometimes just gives way under him causing him to trip over.

Is this him just discovering he can walk on his tippy toes or could there be a problem.
have anyone elses child done this?

he has been walking competently since he was 10 months old without this happening

Everyday at least 3-4 times a day I have to have a knock down drag out with my 4 yr. old son. He hits, kicks, screams, throws things, spits, & uses fowl language at me. I have tryed everything to get him to stop. I've read parenting books as well. The main problem is that I have a 13 yr old step son who does not like me at all. He refuses to do what I say 99% of the time. Not only that but ever since my 4 yr old has been born, he has been subjected to the abuse and fowl language that the 13 yr. old does to me. He still calls names and foul language is still used by my13 yr. old. Also, his way of releasing anger is the throw things or break stuff. How am I supposed to teach my 4 yr. old to respect me,my stuff & listen & do what he is told if he has watched my 13 yr old get away with it.We're in counseling w/ the 13 yr. old. We have tried everything w/him as well & he just refuses to obey. Nana favors him as well & thinks he's a good kid who does no wrong so that doesn't help.

Because it is soooooo cold outside its hard to get the daycare kids outside. I am looking for an educational video thats about 30 minutes that keeps them up and moving around while following directions such as dancing or excersize that is kid friendly. Any Ideas or know of any good DVD to purchase that would do that, incase we can't make it outside in this frigid weather??

Hi for the past couple of days I have been noticing that my 2 1/2yr old daughter blinks normal than usual, almost like as if her eyes where dry or bothering her. I ask her if her eyes hurt...and she says no. She mostly does it when she is looking at books or the tv. Has this ever happened to anyone else;s baby they ended up needing glasses?? Is this a sign that she can't see well??
