Because it is soooooo cold outside its hard to get the daycare kids outside. I am looking for an educational video thats about 30 minutes that keeps them up and moving around while following directions such as dancing or excersize that is kid friendly. Any Ideas or know of any good DVD to purchase that would do that, incase we can't make it outside in this frigid weather??

Coming from Minnesota, I completely understand. I would recommend changing it up. Turn on the music and play musical chairs or dance like crazy and then freeze when the music stops. If space allows try a version of red light-green light. Have the kids take turns being the leader for Follow the Leader.

I know some days it seems like it takes longer to get the kids bundled up then they have time to play, but if your school allows them to go out side, try to get them out for at least a few minutes of fresh air.

See if any of the Moms have a DVD they would be willing to donate or loan for a few weeks that would fit the bill.

And finally, pray for spring :>}

Why not skip doing DVDs or movies and have the kids engaged in a Simon Says game with you? That is exactly what you're wanting them to do: follow directions and move.

You can also do a fun game of Freeze Dance with music. (Play the music, kids dance. Stop the music, kids must freeze in place.) Tremendous fun with silly songs. Have them do animals in one round, superheroes in another round, go crazy in another round, etc. Be creative.

Sadly, no DVD or movie will really get the kids really moving for a full half hour. Even the best shows need some sort of plot stuff going to get the kids as engaged as they will be with a fun game.

I would do it yourself! Maybe use a dvd now and then, but you could play simon says with them...have different kids come up and be simon. Play follow the leader. Put on music and just dance.

I don't know names of dvd's sorry :)
