It depends how green it is. my son had greeny coloured poo a couple of weeks ago (hes now 13 weeks) when i replaced two breast feeds with bottles. Does he seem ill? Have you changed his food (breast to bottle or mixing or changing formula) i think you should consult your doctor but perhaps one of those has had an affect. All the best!

Hi there i noticed that someone mentioned something about sma that made their kids poo green? well i dont know what you feed your baby and if it isformula sma and has been ince birth the poo would be green right away as sma gold is seaweed based. It made my daughters poo green and constipated her too, so i changed too aptimil, and has been better, i would take her to the dodtor who may want a sample to test, my daughter had that at around 3months and seemed ok although the test came back with a bug in it, but it was just to run its course and was told to make sure she is drinking plenty cooled boiled water to stop her becoming dehydrated. If your baby wont take plain water add a little sugar and she will take it then. If you have been breastfeeding up until last week then changed to formula this my be the problem, but i think its a bug ??? also she is almost 3months and could be starting to teeth that makes their poo unpleasant. Anyway green poo is not a good thing in general and you would be best taking her to the doctor. Good luck honey.xx

Are you breastfeeding?
If you are, green poop is a sign that your baby is getting too much foremilk (the watery, sugary milk) and not enough hindmilk (the creamy, fatty milk). Foremilk has a lot of lactose, which is a sugar. When the baby drinks too much foremilk and not enough hindmilk, the intestines get overloaded with lactose, and irritated, making the poop green. this can be corrected easily by block feeding. Block feeding is offering the same breast for several feedings before switching to the other breast for several more feedings. In this way, the baby drains the breast and gets more of the creamy, fatty hindmilk, which will help with the poop.
If block feeding doesn't solve the problem, try eliminating dairy or soy from your diet for two weeks, and see if the green stools go away. If they do, try introducing dairy/soy back into your diet, and see if the problem comes back. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't. If it does, you may have to avoid these foods until a later time, and try introducing them again to see if you get the same reaction.

I think this calls for a phone call to the doctor, but it's probably not a big deal.
If you're breastfeeding her, you may have eaten something that made her go green. Spinach? Broccoli? Licorice can do it too.
She's not eating solids yet, is she? If so, again, green foods can do that.

my mum says that some forumla milk can have that effect. She gave my brother SMA formula after she couldn't breastfeed any more and his poo went green. But he got used to it. You should call a doctor too though. Or a granny. Or your health visitor.
