Sure - he is learning to recognize letters and he is still very open in his form recognition - that is why kids are great at finding shapes in clouds but as adults we just see globs and vapor. It is a skill, recognizing letters and he is refining it right now. But he might be an artist some day - seeing letters in construction sites - how cool it that? Don't worry, he will get his eyes on the page and the signs soon enough. Kids take us into a mystic realm, enjoy it.

That is wonderful. Join with him and see if you can spot the letters he is seeing. Make a game out of it. My daughter did the same thing, and sometimes even does it now. It means they are using a good bit of their brain power at an early age. Be thankful that your child is interrested enough in letters...start working on numbers and see if he does the same thing...also shapes and colors. Keep up the excellent job!

I think that's a good sign - when I was a toddler I always pointed out letters I recognised in road signs. I was an early reader so this could mean the same for your son. Even if it doesn't I wouldn't worry, he just seems to be creative.

I think that is normal. My son loved his ABCs and learned them early and did the same thing. My daughter learned them a little later, but still, did the same thing! My son is now in school and is doing fine.

Oh, yeah! You have a smart kid there. Not all kids at that age are that observant. Count your blessings, and indulge his search for knowledge. My daughter knew her alphabet before her second b-day, and she loves to learn. Learning should be exciting, not boring! So, don't worry you're doing something right it looks like. Kids that don't get much attention from their parents will channel their curiosity elsewhere... and I don't have to tell you where.

Normal among children who love letters, yes. It's a great thing, too. It shows that he's smart and creative. Entertain him, help him find letters elsewhere, and let him explore his creativity.

Hi I teach preschool,
This is def normal, and in fact wonderful,. You should def expand on your child's creativity. He is ready to move forward. Start teaching him the sounds of the letters.
