Some of the Leap Frog games are great for her age. Ones that you can sit and help her with. For my son's 3rd birthday in Aug I got him the Leap Frog Word Jammer. It has magnetic letters that when placed in the tray teach them the correct pronunciation of the letters and words.
I actually had the wrong name. I was playing with this tonight with my son and it is Word Whammer. He LOVES it.

Anything little people.
Play foods
duplo lego blocks

i bought my son a 7-11 slurpie maker, when he was 2 and a half for christmas. He loved it. He got to pull the lever to let out the slurpie into his cup. And you dont have to use soda, you can use juices.
Good buy but it sucks up batteries.
He also got an easy bake oven that christmas.... (yes i bought a boy an oven) he really likes it. It is a fun activity for us to do when its too nasty outside to play and the cookies and cakes are tiny so its not much sugar intake.

Play doh, my two year old now almost 3 year old loves it. She also loved her baby dolls, she has My first Doll house by Fisher Price she got for her 2nd birthday and still palys with. Those mess free crayola markers and coloring books. A play tent, a kitchen, books, toy guitar or piano, bath toys. The little people toys are also a big hit.
