My daughter will be four in january.
She goes to nursery everyday so has lots of friends, but i dont know these kids or their parents so i dont think i can invite them and even if i did i dont know that they would come.
We are planning on going to a soft play place, she has never had a party so i want this to be good. Any advice? what do you think?

You know for three years I was putting off parties and not doing them because of that exact same reason..Just this past saturday I threw a kid friendly thanksgiivng party for my girls. I figured..oh well if no one shows..I will know for sure...it just doens't work...I ended up with 10 kids, five parents, my next door neighbors..next thing I knew, I myself made a new best friend, kids were sleeping over, half of mine where going over to their friends house for sleepovers and it just turned out to be fantastic that everyone was able to make new friends and be happy and have fun..all because I took a chance...it could turn out to be positive for you too..if you just throw your hands up and just do it.

book the soft play place early! find out how many kids she can invite and let her choose. parties are a ggod way of meeting other mums. send out invites on the first day back after xmas, just take them to the nursery, they should pass them on to the right parents at home time. put an rsvp and contact details in. go for it, and remember to put her in jeans or trousers or tights for all that climbing! go for it! and enjoy the party without having to worry about the washing up

I also have a four year old and for his party I thought of inviting lots of kids from his preschool class but I came to the conclusion that it would be to much and to overwhelming so we found his two favorite friends from school and I spoke to there parents they both came plus his two cousins who are his age and it was perfect for him not to much

a bunch of 4 year olds at the house can be hectic unless you live in nice temperature weather be sure to have outside activities....I usually take my kids to Ceaser Land or Chuckey Cheeses , Pump it up, or even Bouncing of the walls.....these places are not that expensive if you have a party during the week and just walk in and pay and don't plan the party there ...Early in the morning Is like the place is yours.....

go to the nursery and hang out for a while to meet your daughter's playmates and their parents when the children are being dropped off and the ones that you would prefer there, introduce yourself to the parents and explain that you just wanted to meet the parents and that you are planning a party for your daughter and let them know you will be bringing the invitaions to the school for more information and voila!

Keep it low key. Dont' spend alot of money or you set yourself up to continually do better and better. Plus she is 4. She can ahve a blast at home. Let her pick 4 or 5 friends. Invite them over for games, cake and stuff. There is no reason to go anywhere and spend all sorts of money.

Give your little girl the invitations to give to her nursery leader. Only put the children's names on the card as well as the obvious information.
something like; ~Your Child~ would like to invite ~Friend~ to her 4th birthday party.

Promise cake.

Don't make it a big party. Cake, a few presents is all she needs to be fun, fun, fun. It would be nice to get to know the other parents and kids. She is there everyday!!

talk to the day care employees, See if your child gets along with maybe two girls there and if so invite them. Most parents will bring there children cause its a day off and your kid will enjoy themselves.
