I wonder, with all the spanking debates on yahoo answers, have any users actually been spanked recently, within 6 months? I have not met any kids who are spanked these days, and wonder how many actually are actually spanked. I am not looking for people to answer that they were spanked growing up 5, 10, or 20 years ago. Looking for recently.

I was Christmas shoping at a store, and saw two women arguing, one lady had a temper tantrum child on her side, and the other one, probably a stranger was giving order to the mother, she had her purse out and was paying cashier, I assumed that's why she couldn't hold her child. Do you think the other woman was nosy? what would you be offended if some women wanted to give you mother advice?

I dont know what to do. My 10 year old step daughter is very destructive and has been trying to physically hurt my 6 month old son. Please do not tell me that I need to include her, and treat her like my own, because I do,thats not the issue here.Shes 10, Ive know her since she was 7.I had a talk with my husband about her behavior.Well, the last time I caught her pushing and yanking on my 6 month old sons head. And of course her parents never punished her for it. I have told her numerous of times, DO NOT pick him up out of his crib and walk around with him.Its not just her,its any kid. They get distracted and dont pay attention to what they are doing, not to mention the stairs in the house. But I cant tell you how many times she has went in there, woke him up and picked him up.I cant sit beside my sons crib 24 hours a day to make sure she doesnt do anything.I have caught her pushing on his soft spot also.I talked to my husband about it,he has finally been starting to get CONTINUED>>>>

The whole Madeline thing stirred up the whole 'leaving your kids alone' thing.

This is my scenareo - I live directly diagonal to the corner store (my house is the fifth one down on the other side of the road - terraces) I have left my baby alone if I need to get some milk or some bread or whatever. I will slip my shoes on, put her in the playpen and will be gone for less than 2 minutes.

The alternative is to get her dressed and etc and a two minute job becomes a 20 minute thing.

I know the down side is if I got hit by a car or whatever crossing the road, no one would know there was a baby alone in the house. To be honest anything else that could happen in that 2 minute window could easily happen when I am upstairs sitting on the toilet and she is in her playpen.

What is your opinion?

Okay, so the other night, my son was using the word "sex" in a sentence (my boys are turning 10 x-mas eve) so I thought I would sit them both down and have a little talk about it. Is this too young? My folks never talked to me about it, but I am sure I should tell them about it. My husband and I were both involved in the talk.... But how much info is too much info????? please advise.

I'm just wondering how other parents feel about this week long celebration at Disney World..

I don't really have an opinion other than that Disney World is a place for kids, and if all of the things I've read about Gay Days is true, then I certainly won't be taking my son June3-9 next year. I'm not homophobic, but I don't want my son asking me why men are kissing and groping each other in the park. IDK

send your children to school sick?

Like when they are contagious.
Its not fair to others.

Im sick because in HS teens parents don't care like they used to or force them to go to school no matter what.

I have a cold and may have mono for a second time. No I didnt kiss anyone to get it. I don't share my drinks with others. Im a cautious person. Yet in the end I still get screwed over.

My first husband and I are divorced since our daughter was 9 mnths. She recently told us that she has been repeatedly molested by her grandfather during visitations with her dad. i ave done all the proper things since then, notified social services, she has been physically examined twice and they found scaring on her cervix and a partially torn hymen both times (different doc's) she also has been to two different child therapists who say it definatly happend. The thing is, the case has been "shelved" i was told by the investigating attorney because the district attorney says that she is not a crediable witness because she is only 6 and that there is not enough evidence to prosicute. I have emailed and called the uninted states justice dept., he congressman for my area and local news stations, including CNN and NBC. What else can I do? I don't understand why justice can't be found in this matter!

Every day I get bothered either to do that or do HIM somethin ya know. Well all I wanted to know is if he is a sex addict and what I could do to help him.

Just wondering what other's opinions are, whether you were an only child or have an only child. I have a 2 year old and would like to have another child, but my hubby is ambivalent about it. If it were just my feelings to consider, then I wouldn't mind not having another because he is the whole center of my world and has all of the love I can give, but he's only 2 and he enjoys all the attention and time he spends with us now, but as he gets older I think he would like a sibling to play with. I have an older brother and older sister. They were a complete pain in the butt growing up, but looking back, my life would have been so different and so empty without them. So I guess I am ambivalent too, it's hard to imagine loving another as much as I love him. Any opinions or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I don't like to assign it because I view Xmas as family time. I have had requests from parents and from students though. Some want it to prepare for the January tests. Others want extra credit. If I did anything, I was going to give a website and ask parents to sign off that students spent a certain amount of time working on the Pre-Algebra problems. feedback?

I am curious if any women would admit to feeling regretful of having had children? I've often heard that it's the 'moments' that make it all worth while. Are those times truely worth all of the effort that you have put forth into raising them? Or do you think that it has been a hinderance in any way? Career, travel, Opportunity... (I am 27/no children and still undecided on having any.)

My four year old Hayden, was getting ready to go to bed and I said you need to brush your teeth now, after five or so minutes of debate. and she said uh mom i dont want to and i dont have to!
i said: brush your teeth now!
hayden: like i have to
i said: hayden your getting a spanking after you brush your teeth.
hayden: i dont care it's not like it hurts then she proceedeed to run and i just waited for her to stop, i finally picked her up by her pajama bottom pulled it down and gave her eight swats on her undies
i told her that her dad would give her a "harder" one in the morning.
should i start giving her bare bottom spankings? how many swats should i do?
i feel like im always spanking my kids.

Some of the most important things a parent can teach a child is how to respect themselves, others, give them morals and values in life.

What of these have you taught your children?

I live in a unfenced rental home... I can't keep these kids out of my yard!!! I have said a couple of times "please play in your own yard" dosen't work...
I hate confrontation and I have a soft spot for kids. But, this children are out of control. They run around like screaming banshees, curse, throw balls at my house, hang on my tool shed, climb on my porch, get in the garden, etc. ( i think you get the point.) I think they are age range 5-12. Oh, and their mother in my opinion should be on jerry springer. She's 300 lbs and quite frankly SCARES ME! =(
I am just afraid that they will get hurt and sue me. (you just hear so many crazy stories.) also not to mention my husband works midnights and sleeps in the day with these SREAMING kids....Any help would be great thanks! =)
