Because thats part of freedom it would be horrible if we start letting the government control even more! But the curfew for minors in california is 10 pm so they kinda already do lol

Cities establish curfews for the safety of all its citizens. It is the same as a speed limit. If the government says the speed limit is 65, can I as a parent tell my children it is ok for them to drive 70? Of course not. Of course I CAN make my children come in WAY before the city curfew, but not after.

Another reason cities establish curfews is because kids don't always do as their parents tell them. What happens if you, although well intentioned establish a curfew for your child and he or she sneaks out of the house? Isn't it much better for a police officer to bring them home rather than allow them to run around, getting into trouble in the middle of the night?

I think that being a parent means being responsible for your children. Parents should set a curfew for their children. Why should the government have to? I am in California and the state curfew is reasonable. However, I should be the one establishing the curfew not them!

Its MY child I carried him for nine months. The government didn't have anything to do with him being made or brought into this world. They can't tell me how to raise my son. If he were to be out past curfew then I would be the one to punish him. NOT them. Its a free country I can do as I please with what time my son is out and about. Hope this helps. Happy Holidays and Good Luck...
