My parents treat me like they are my friends and I am used to getting treated the same as adults but whenever I go to school or something I get yelled at at an adult who demands all the respect in the world. AKA my princaple and my neighbor...
- MY neighbor says I am destructing public property and that she is going to call the cops if I keep it up (I am not even doing anything!! There are other kids that do it but not me!!)
- MY princaple keeps on telling me to listen to the adults because they deserve more respect than I do or something..

IS IT OK FOR ME TO WANT TO TEAR THERE HAIR OUT!!!?? Why do adults demand so much respect!?

Ok this is what happened. 12 years ago I divorced my husband we had a 2 year old boy at the time. I was unwell in hospital ( I had an ongoing problem that lasted 5 years) and was deemed unfit to care for our son, so my husband was given full custody and he moved to the other side of the country. I hadn't seen or herd from either my son or husband for 12 years when last week the police called. My son had been arrested 6 times in the last year, mostly for stealing and being a public nuisance. My ex husband had been warned several times but did not seem to do something about it. So either I had to take him or he would be put in a detention center. I decided to take him. I have had him for two days. I don't know how my ex husband brought him up but he is one angry, frightened, confused and very rude 14 year old. Already he has thrown several plates and cups at walls, has called me several swear words and tried to run away. I think it is my ex husbands fault but I don't know what to do.

Many people I know do not get along with their in-laws. I don't like mine because they told me I was fat constantly when I was pregnant and now they always put me down on how I raise my child. It is my husband's brothers and their wives that do this. It has gotten so far that I do not see them and have not for a whole year. We live blocks away from them, so the kids and my husband see them often(like every other day), but I avoid them. Even at the grocery store. In my culture it is an insult to tell people they are fat and scold them on how to raise their kids. Since people have different ways of raising kids. What do you think?

I am a stay-at-home-mom with two children--ages 2 years and 6 months. We are involved in various activities with other moms and young children such as play group, story time at the library, Early Childhood Family Education, etc. I have made great friends with the other moms, but have recently become very agitated by other people's kids! I'm not bugged by all kids, but enough kids from different families that I realize I need to figure out a way to deal with my irritation! I love being able to be at home with my kids and am happy to have them involved in different activities. I just find myself dreading being around other young children!!! I could complain about various "bad" behaviors and lack of intervention by parents (my friends!), but I realize that I can't change other people and need to find a way to cope! Anyone else struggle with this and have any good advice?

My partner has 2 kids, 6-yo girl and 5-yo boy. They don't live with us, they live with their mom, her new husband, and 8-month-old baby. Their mom "homeschools" them, which has been fine for the oldest as she is (1) motivated, (2) very bright, and (3) the beneficiary of a fair amount of attention before the baby was born. The 5-yo boy DOES NOT KNOW HIS LETTERS ON SIGHT. It was a horrible struggle to get him to learn his numbers, and now that we've found out he doesn't get any teaching at home, it's a horrible struggle all over again with the letters. He's whiny, unmotivated, and obviously coddled by mommy, but doesn't show any signs of unintelligence or learning disabilities. We've already had all kinds of fun with this woman in court. She doesn't care about our thoughts on raising the children properly, and won't send them to school of her own accord. We live in TX. Can we get him tested and force her to send him to school? Any thoughts on how to do this? PLEASE HELP!

my son is 9 months old and always wants me to put him to sleep or let him sleep with me and for the past couple of days i have been giving him a bath every night then putting him in his crib letting him cry in his crib till he falls asleep but i go in there about every 15 minutes to let him know he is ok. it has been taking him about an hour in a half to fall asleep. the reasson why im asking if im a bad parent or not is because my family and friends are telling me i am they say just to let him sleep with me and i dont want that, ive seen kids still 13 sleepping in there parents room, i personally think that is a little old to be doing that.. thanks for the responses. have a great night.

Some men call these mothers who raise their daughters to get pregnant, entrap or seduce a famous person through pregnancy or marriage so the whole fsamily can be rich terrible mothers.
Some women say they have the right to use their children to get rich any way they can as long as its legal. Do you agree. I disagree

I'm not talking about fast food like Burger King or McD's I'm talking about things we give to our children to eat right at home. What things do we feed our children that we think are not so bad but in actuality are really unhealthy? I bet there may be things that would surprise us as to how bad they are.

How can we avoid these things?

Am I selfish for that? I see so many minorities getting pregnant young and having 2 or 3 babies even before they are old enough to drink, but I made it to 30 and I still don't have kids. I don't know if I want kids yet because I know how hard life can be. I've had a tough life and I've had really bad depression since my teenage years. I don't want to bring more humans into this unfair world. If things get better I might change my mind though.

I previously asked a question about my son having some friends sleep over, (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071201221636AA2zVBd&r=w) of which a few were girls. 99.9% of the responses said no. How do I tell my son no? Because he will say something like don't you trust me? And I can't say no, because I do trust him. What should I say? Or should i just let them stay over?
