well if your friend has older parents there's not much you can do now. but if your friend is thinking of waiting to have kids until he's older, then you may want to let him know that when you are older you will not be able to enjoy the children as much. My dad was 36 when I was born. he played with me until I was about 7 and then he just didn't have time for me any more. when I was 16 my dad was in his fifties and was to tired for throwing a ball or hanging out together.
older parents are great for learning wisdom but older parents die while young kids are left to make it alone in this world.
good luck with your friend.

Why are you trying to tell your friend reasons having older parents is bad?
There is no disadvantages- it's just an age. The only thing you have to be careful about is having children after 40 years of age because it can become more dangerous health wise.

when you have a child after age 35, the odds of that being either down syndrome or having IQ above the norm greatly increase. Either one might be seen as a blessing to the parents. As a child with a mother who was 35 and father who was 43 and ended up on the higher IQ end (135) I can only tell you that I was socially repressed by them. They were completely disconnected culturally and socially from all my friends' parents. I was constantly asked by my friends, "Are they your grandparents?". Just last weekend while shopping with my mother I was asked the same thing.

I was born when my dad was 40 and my mother was 38.
I am 43 and both parents have died. My children never got to have a good time with grandma and grandpa because they were just old and sick all the time. Dad had a stroke when I was in high school.
My parents acted old. They never went anywhere with me they never had any fun with me and life was a drag because they were old and sick.
