For me, the majority of children have been doing and getting what they want for a long time. All you have to do is to look around to see the results....there's your speech!

I don't want to give a speech. Actually, I believe getting on one's soapbox is against Y! policy..
Anyway, I'll give you my opinon.
Letting kids do whatever they want doesn't give them a needed sense of boundaries and exposes them to danger and unhealthy situations before they may be ready for them. It's up to parents or guardians to make sure kids grow up safely and well-adjusted.

Kids shouldn't do whatever they want because they don't know how to fully take care of themselves. They may not be aware of the dangers of the outside world so they need parents to guide them until they are old enough to take care of themselves.

children should not be able to do what they want because they need to learn so many lessons in life such as patcience, respect , humanity ect. If a child were to be allowed to do exactly wahtever it wanted with no adult guidance it would be very damaging and would affect the child for the rest of its life, we must teach and guide children to become good people who have respect for themselves and others.

I don't really want to give a speech.

Kids don't have life wisdom and their choices are not always rational... that is my speech.
