are answering a question on here. Ok sure people are rude. and some can be quite ignorant. But let's face it. This is the world wide web and you are going to get all kinds. So why not just ignore the ignorant ones report them if they are really that vile. and only pay attention to the ones you think make a valid and interesting point?

Who else is bothered when you see a small child (I'm talking under 3 years old) with a mohawk? Do parents really think this is cute? I feel so sorry for the kids, they are too young to know better. It's one thing if it's an older child who can say that that's the hairstlye they want but a toddler has no clue!!

Protesting their innocence with wide eyes when they *know* that they have done something wrong, pushing and shoving even after they have been stopped to be spoken to and then sulking when they are punished with a red or yellow card.
Do you think that this is due to their particular upbringing (being marked out as "special" at a young age) or is it something that we just have to accept and can only try our best to prevent our own children turning out like that.
My boys aren't professional footballers but I was able to put a stop to that sort of behaviour when they were boys - but how do you stop them reverting to it once they are adults - or is that not possible?
I haven't seen my boys act like that as adults but would they if they were to get onto a professional football team?

Ok, so my aunt and uncle own a restaurant that's pretty popular in this area. I also work there as a cook and i'm only 15. All the regulars that come to the restaurant say i'm one of the best cooks there. My parents approve of it but my grandma doesn't. She say's I shouldn't be having a job at 15, especialy at a restaurant as a cook.
What do you think?

My youngest daughter just went off to college this past August. All 3 of my other children had no problem with college but my youngest is having a very hard time. I am worried she may be going through a depression.

She is giving it one more semester before she decides if she is going to transfer next year or not but I am still very concerned.

I know she is not passing one of her classes, wouldn't even get up to go to her other class the other day, and is now a weight of about 90 pounds. She lost 5 pounds and that's a concern to me as a mother.

Should I take her out of college next semester to allow her to go a to a community college??

I know next semester she is staying with a girl she met through the internet who could not get into the college until next semester!

I'm still concerned though!!
Should I put her in a community college for a semester??

My husband took me out to eat last night and this woman came in her 3 yr old daughter was throwing a fit crying and screaming at the mother. "No I am not going to walk, you are going to carry me" "I don't want that, I don't want to" ETC... I was all like can we say this child runs the house. Because the mother just picked her up and did everything the child said. I was thinking okay like your inside and should let her throw her fit go order then sit down eventually she will stop and go looking for mom. right? I imbarrassed my husband because he thinks I am loud and voice my opinion to loud. I know you can't spank any more because you can be arrested but don't you think mom could have done something besides give in to the child? How would you have handled it if it was your 3 yr. old? I would have done what I said walked away and had my dinner if she didn't stop then I would have gotten it to go and took her home. Not picked her up and carried her because she threw a fit and told me to.

I'm 24 years old and this is my first year as a Kindergarten Teacher. I'm not sure what to be for Halloween? Do teachers get dressed up?

It seems to be a mixed crowd at my school. Some do, some don't.

As parents, do you notice your children's teachers dressing up? If so, what are they?

I have a witch costume. I was thinking about wearing that. It's not scary, but I have the hat and everything.

What do you think? I need some ideas.

Am I right to say this? I am a strong beliver in first apperance and I tell my 9 year old son, and 7 & 5 year old daughters to choose friends by the clothes they wear and their looks. I honestly don't want my kids being around kids that don't wear named brand clothes. I think it's working very well, my kids have pretty looking friends. I don't want them having "unattractive" friends.

At what age do you think a minor should have a cell phone?

I don't want advice. My children are 5 and under. We are certainly not there yet. I just wanted to know your opinions.

When a woman is at home with her kids, it's just that, she is at home with her kids.

But when a man has to stay home with the kids while the wife is out, he'll say, "I have to babysit." Not all men, but a lot.

I should elaborate:

I do get strong protective instincts when it comes to animals but when I see children swearing and fighting on the bus, or hear about the rates of bullying, I just can't see why they are so appealing.

Dogs never lie or deceive, kids do.

I think they should get life for abusing/enabling abuse. What do you think?

If one parent knew that the other parent was being mean, verbal abusing, having control over everything in the child's life (Do not know about hitting though with who i am talking about),
What do you think should happen to them?

been in and out of jail for drugs/robbery, recently shot because gang bangers after him and drinks heavily? He is real nice but tons of problems. We want to go out but don't have a sitter avail so my husband thought to ask her. I said if she comes to our house alone I don't mind but now its a problem because the boyfriend wants to come and they want to take our son (10 yrs) miniature golfing. This guy was just shot in June because people are after him for snitching on some drug dealers. My step daughter says there is no problem now so am I being paranoid to say no? My husband had the nerve to say for me to make the decision..what a dumb a**. Now my mom is saying give them a chance. My son is at an impressionable age. I don't want him influenced negatively or worse they have him try pot or something and say don't tell your mom. I have all these scenarios in my head. I know I have mental issues but that's beside the point. I just want feedback not putdowns or I'll block you.

I wrote thank you's for wedding and shower gifts but never expected to recieve or sent thank you's for birthday presents growing up.

Now my daughter is 2 1/2 and I haven't sent birthday thank you's the past 2 years. However, my friend's daughter sent us a thank you for her 1st birthday gift and it made me start wondering if I should be having her write thank you's for birthday gifts.

Also, If I do it for birthday, should I also do it for Christmas or Easter or Valentine's day or random gifts throughout the year? Just curious what everyone thinks. Thanks in advance!

My son will be 3 and 3/4 years old and my daughter will be in 3 months in December. So what should I get them and how much should I spend and how much should i get them?

When I got pregnant my daughter was 18 months, I had a severe miscarriage where I almost died. She pushed me away and went to her daddy for everything. I became pregnant a third time & it was a life & death situation where I was on strict bedrest and had the surgery (to close the cervix @ 12 wks). I tried at the time to hold her as much as I could and sit and play with her in the bed. But she never came to hug me or deal with me like she does her dad. I feel she sees my pregnancies as my abandoning her. In fact I went over the top with her and while I was supposed to be on bedrest at 32 wks pregnant, on her 3rd b-day I got up out of bed to bake a cake and make her dinner for her birthday.

Now at five she says she doesn't feel loved, I bend over backwards for her and it's never good enough and I'm really concerned when she gets older-what our relationship is going to be like. I don't want it to end like it did with my mom. I have 2 kids I love both equally so what's going on?

So first off, does anyone find it at all strange that since studies started coming out in ~1985 that "hitting children is bad", that serious injuries from child abuse rose 400% and fatalities increased by 48%? ( http://www.indicators.ak.org/indicators/ChildAbuseReptRate98F.htm )

Secondly, why is it that children born after this research have less of an attention span, and no respect for their parents nor elders?

I am against child abuse and against hitting a child out of anger. But I would simply like to know:

Why has our society's view on hitting children resulted in the situation getting worse instead of better?
