as kids boys are more competitive than girls and it stays with them through adulthood?

I'd say equal to some extent. Girls are mean. They may not compete against other girls in sports or academics; but when it comes to life issues.......YES.
Women will compete using appearance, social status, mothering styles, their martial status. They will brag about how "great" their husbands are. Women try to out do each other in social arenas, not in sports like men.

No it is.
Anybody can be too competitive. It's depends upon the interest as well as leeway provided to them.
In our society male kids allowed to be play outside and take part in any game while female kids do only indoor game became hers less competitive than boys kids.
If same opportunity is given to them they can prove it.

No. I know some pretty competitive girls. They usually seem to have brothers, so maybe boys are a strong influence on the girls who are competitive.

yes i think that to
boys are more competetive till college. then girls become more competetive and agressive while boys take the back seat. its a danger situation for boys. its my personal experiance.
