Ok i just asked a question in regards to the death of my 11 year old cousin. There was one person that said "She was old enough, she should have put it on" (Yea she should have put her seatbelt on but any mother should enforce their kids to wear seatbelts even if they do not want to wear them)

As a mother i make sure a seatbelt in around my son. He sometimes don't want to wear one but he has too and i will not drive without him being buckled up.
What do you all think about that person implying like it was my cousins fault?

Here is the story of the crash that claimed the life of my 11 year old cousin Amber: http://www.wbir.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=50163

The step-mom is out of the hospital and on house arrest with a ankle bracelet. Why is she not in jail right now?
(She caused the crash on her own, driving 80mph with 6 kids in the car, crash and killed Amber)
(Also she had been mistreating her, making her into a slave, not allowing her to have any contact with her blood sister or her father's side of the family. I still cannot figure out why my cousin -the child's father- is still standing by her)
I did not know of the abuse until it was too late, we live in different states. I would have done something had i known.
Alot of people on here said to me that it was just an accident but she was on drugs while driving so tell me why is she not in jail and how long do you think it will be before they put her there were she belongs?

Also she has been having nightmares of amber which is good.

As the mother of a beautiful 11 month old little boy, I often wonder this.

Men have so much to live up to. They have to be the breadwinner, the provider. They cannot show weakness. This even starts when they are little ie "boys don't cry". When little girls fall and cut their knees they are cuddled and fussed over, but little boys are encouraged to be tough about it.

I worry for my son. I worry whether I will bring him up to be a strong man or whether because I love and adore him so much I will over protect him.

i know how some women choose to stay home with their children b/c they feel its the right thing to do...meanwhile, your spouse is working long hours, by the time he gets home, the kids are probably getting their baths or in bed...children need some time with their father...how is it possible, if the husband has to work to support the household. the father shouldnt be used as someone to bring home the income. if husband and wife worked opposite shifts/hours, the children will be comfortable with both parents. the child wouldnt look at his/her father as an ATM machine when they get older. it takes two to make them, so it should take two to raise them. so many ppl talk down on working moms because they are missing out on their children growing up...what about the fathers who work 24/7, so that wives can stay home. dont you think they want to spend time with their children too? are working fathers appreciated? it clearly takes two incomes nowadays to make it..why put all that pressure

On the news just now there was a report that children aren`t allowed as much freedom as they used to be and that constant supervision etc is considered detrimental to their welfare.
Personally in this day and age i don`t see we as parents have much option!
Would you let your 7 year old walk to the shops on thier own or stay out playing till dark because theres no way i would
what do you think, are we too over-protective??

Driving on the highway in the country and you have to pee. You stop at the next gas station, only to find it is closed & abandoned. Do you hold it, get back in the car and drive away? Or pee outside somewhere like behind the building? Or even sneak inside through a door they forgot to lock and pee in the empty building?

... smart ones as I always did be made aware of the fact that it is possible that *other* children are being exploited in order that their own children get the clothes that they want (rather than what they *need*).

I have three little boys. ages 6,5,and 3....their real father is an *** and is in jail for drug abuse. we separated right after I had my last son.
then I started dating Brian. He has been their daddy for 3 yrs. they call him daddy and everything. they are very close to Brian. Yesterday morning at 1am Brian died in a very tragic, senseless motorcycle accident. (sobbing) and I just don't know how to tell them. They know something is wrong. I just don't want to break their hearts.

He was riding home from a bar, drunk, w/o a helmet. I am so mad at him. I wish I could yell at him. But I can't. I need to know how to tell my boys.

The outhouses are usually gross... what do you do instead?

I know when I was young, my mom would wrap us in a towel for privacy and just let us do our little p℮℮ on the sand. That sure was easy! Do you suggest the same?

My son is almost 15 months old and I've kept track of what he can say. There are almost 40 different words that he says and is learning new one's every day! His first word was mama and it's still his favorite but still uses the others all the time. He also knows about over a dozen sign language signs. Im so amazed at how eager is he to learn. Is he doing good for his age?

Should they be Planned Abortion and Unreproductive Rights instead of Planned Parenhood and Reproductive rights? Because Planned Parenthood means you should plan to be a parent and Reproductive Rights should mean the right to be productive not abortive..

Its getting close to halloween, and I already hear kids lighting off fireworks without supervision of an adult.

What would you do if you see a bunch of teenagers lighting off fireworks on halloween?

Would you let your son who was between 14-16 use fireworks without you with his friends?

I've been a stay at home mom for about a year and a half now - for the first three years of my daughter's life our finances couldn't be settled on only one income. Anyway, since I've been home, I've had a hard time meeting other moms who are mentally stable. They seem to be a little nuts. Anyone else have this experience? I love my children and I love spending time with them - what's with all the "I refuse to clean or put on make up" attitudes and the gossipy/catty stuff? Where can I meet moms who are just nice, normal people?

I am 28 years old and have been married 9 years, and I have absolutely no urge to have a child.

I have never wanted to have a child even earlier in my marriage. It's a mutual decision that my husband and I agree on.

I'm always asked "When are you going to have kids", and when I tell people that I don't want children..... I recieve some awful looks at times.

I like kids, but I've never had that "motherly instinct".
