i kept my son in our room, only because i was a new mom and was completely paranoid of SIDS and had to make sure he was breathing at all times. i would have been a wreck if he wasn't in the same room. Plus i was nursing so it was easier to have him right there.

We had our daughter in a bassinet next to our bed until she was three months old. It was definitely better having her in our room especially when she woke up in the middle of the night and also checking on her to make sure she was okay. The transition from your room to her own room is what you are comfortable with, not what other people tell you.

With both my daughters, they were in our bedroom in a bassinet for the first month or so. For one thing, especially if you're nursing, they eat every 2-3 hours, so it's easier to get to them. Another thing is I worried about whether or not they were breathing and didn't want them so far away. But after you get into a routine and they start sleeping longer at night, it's nice to have them in their own room so you don't wake up everytime they move.

Personally since I was breastfeeding I put my son in my room until he was about two or three months old. It makes it more convenient until they sleep threw the night. I think that it is better to put the baby in your room especially if you are going to breastfeed because it makes it easier on you. The baby monitors might not work so closely together being on the same floor.

We kept all 3 of our little ones in a bassinet next to our bed for at least the 1st month. It is all a matter of preference and what you are most comfortable with. We didn't have any difficulties getting them to sleep in their crib either. I just really liked having the close by, especially at such a young age.

I am a mum of 2. my first baby i had in her own room from day 1 and my second i let sleep in our room and is still in our room!
I found that my first because she was in a separate room to us i didn't wake up to her every time she moved so i got a better night sleep and so did she by about 3months old she was sleeping though most of the time.
my second is now 5 months and is still up 4-5 times a night and nether of us get a good night sleep i think this is because he is in my room so i here him every time he moves and jump up to check he is OK so i disturb him by ac-dent.
so it is really up to you. but i preferred them in there own room.
Good Luck

First 1-2 months they slept next to the bed. I did not buy a bassinet, but simply used the baby carriage. Baby never complained! It made breast feeding easier and less disruptive, and I think if you let them cry too long at that very young age, they begin to get anxious, and that's not good.

My wife nursed and it was easier for her to have the baby in the room with us. They didn't sleep in our bed but a bassinet next to it. There is nothing better then seeing your beautiful wife cuddling with your child as she nurses him or her back to sleep. We did this with all five of our children for about the first four months. They had no issues sleeping in their own rooms afterward.

You should invest in a basinette and put your baby in your room until it is able to roll over on its on. Infant death syndrome still kills children today. You should not sleep with your baby, but you need your baby close by so that you can hear the breathing. Buying a bassinette with wheels, will allow you to take your sleeping baby all over the house so that you may keep a close eye.

I kept both of my children in a cradle next to my bed for the first month or so. Then, I moved them across the hall to their own room and crib.

at first its a good idea to have the baby sleep in the same room so you can get to him/her more easily, because they wake up more for food/diaper changes then. but when they are almost a yr old they should sleep in their own room because sometimes they have problems sleeping(they dont want to sleep they want to play) and other people in the room can give them an excuse to be up and try to play or get attention.
