My son is almost 15 months old and I've kept track of what he can say. There are almost 40 different words that he says and is learning new one's every day! His first word was mama and it's still his favorite but still uses the others all the time. He also knows about over a dozen sign language signs. Im so amazed at how eager is he to learn. Is he doing good for his age?

He's not doing good, he's doing well! =) All joking aside, it sounds like he's doing a good job. That's about where my son was at his age, and my son was a very early talker (words other than mama/dada came well before he was 6 months old). The next thing to look for is 2 or more word combinations, such as "more milk" or "dada gone." And the only con to having a verbal child is that the day will eventually come when you wish he'd just be quiet - my son is now 3 and I have those days from time to time!
Good luck and have fun with your little guy.

It sounds to me like he is doing very well for his age. Now you can start watching how he strings words together to form a complete thought. Count how many words he says in one sentence. Kids will amaze you at every stage.

i think its 10-20 then the next step is two word sentences. Well done! You'll have a little gabbler on your hands so be prepared for his curious mind and wide vocabulary!
