Just come up with a stock answer for both sets of parents. When they ask if there is any good new you can say:

"Yes, we have decided to wait until we are both emotionally and financially ready for a child".

or

" You know, God will bless us when the time is right".

The decision of when to try if at all is between you and your husband not either of your parents no matter how well intentioned.

Good luck!

I don't really have this problem but from friends who have they just finally told family to stop badgering that things will happen on their terms or not at all. If your not ready than you shouldn't be having children yet it as simple as that. So when your ready start trying however depending on your age you may want to think hard the older you are the more problems with pregnancy and then your kid could be the odd child at school with the parents the age of everyone Else's grandparents. Either way good luck with your decisions

You two are the heads of your household. Next time they ask for the good news, try this "We just saved big money by switching to GIECO!" That might get them to back off.

Tell them that the 2 of you want time together before a child. You really do need it.

Just tell them one more time, that you have decided to wait until you are ready which will be about a year and then you will decide again then.

If they actually ask you "Any good news", tell them, "yes, both (husband's name) and I are very healthy and very happy"

Hard to argue with that.

Stick to your plan. It is your decision, your choice. You are there for each other now, not necessarily them.
