are answering a question on here. Ok sure people are rude. and some can be quite ignorant. But let's face it. This is the world wide web and you are going to get all kinds. So why not just ignore the ignorant ones report them if they are really that vile. and only pay attention to the ones you think make a valid and interesting point?

You make a good point, but the fact is, some people are very thin skinned and get offended when they feel someone is making false assumptions about them, insulting them, or judging them unfairly. It is human nature to want to defend yourself when you feel someone is saying something untrue or unfair about you.

You're totally right. That's good advice for the real world, as well. But just as in "real life," some people have thicker skin than others ... for some people it's hard not to take everything personally. My husband can easily laugh off offensive comments, people honking impatiently at him in traffic, etc. I have a harder time with all that. I hope my kids have his side of the gene pool on that! :-) This is a good place to practice ignoring stupid things, though, because there are just so many offensive things said that you do really have to start filtering them out of your consciousness.....

For some things, they need to just let it go, but some people can be flat out nasty on here. Ok, you can have a thick skin, and not let it get to you, but I don't think that makes it ok for people to be rude.
I see your point though, some people stress over little things.

It's good when people are rude. It shows you a well rounded answer to your question. Let's face it, people are rude in person too, it's only natural that it happens over the internet too. Take the good with the bad I guess!

cuz everyone thinks their question is the most important thing in the world and couldnt believe someone else would mock or insult them by not giving a serious answer... lol i dunno people like to over react and take things personally (even tho the internet is like the least personal you can get)

Finally, someone sees it like I do!! Yeah, I agree with you. They want a set 'pure' view on here, not diversity. Diversity is all around and I'm unsure why It's not accepted on Y/a
