I didn't understand all of that, but my child didn't like her school, so I switched her. She was not running from problems there, she just didnt' fit. It was clicky and she didnt' like it. I figured that even though she was only in grade 2, it is her life. I mean I wouldn't keep a job that I hated and go day after day. That would be miserable. So I let her switch. SHe loved her new school

A school that costs $ to go to more than likely has a much better cirriculum that the other. Also, public schools usually have higher drop-out rates and crime (fighting, bullying, etc.).

I seriously doubt you're going to convince your mom to pull you out of this school. But here's a suggestion.

Get kicked out.

Ok, probably not the best way to go. Try this:

Do reasearch and compare cirriculums of both schools. Figure out the 'extras' that your school teaches. Promise your mother that you will learn these extras on your own, on your own free time. Here's the catch: you actually have to learn these extras. It will take away after-school and weekend time. Figure out if that's worth it to you.

My mother put my brother in a Catholic private school so he'd get more student-teacher attention and so he wouldn't be as influenced by the uncivilized children in our town's public school. Do research on extracirricular activities at the public school. Pick a couple out that you would like to be involved in. Make sure it's something smart like the 'Debate' team. Tell your mom that you want to join that (or whatever) and that it will keep you from hanging out around town after school with all the crack-heads.

... I tried...

I want what is best for my child. I would not put my child in a public school because he wanted to go and had a few friends there. Somehow I doubt his grades would improve. If he is having real problems in his current school and not just laziness than I would pull him out and homeschool him. Although I suspect you want out of your private school to attend the "cool" public school where your friends go..right.. What would I want.. nothing you could tell me I assure you. I have discovered since having children that 90% of the time what they want and what is best for them rarely are the same. I suggest you suck it up.. make better grades and tr harder than what you are. I know you think high school is forever but I promise you it's not even close although your grades and how well you do are pretty darn close because they will effect you long after you have forgotten whats-his-name who you were best friends with in 10th grade..

I would choose for my kid to go to a school where they will learn how to read, write, and spell correctly. Obviously, the current school isn't doing a good job.
