I think $20 is great for only doing 1 chore a week. If you're 14 years old there's a LOT more you can and should be doing around the house to help out your mom or dad.

Please don't ask for more money. Instead, become a more active participant at home and contribute to the family instead of just taking.

It's good practice for your future.

And remember, parents don't give allowances to "pay" their children for doing chores. Kids are obligated to help around the house and should not expect money for it. Being in a family is not a job you get a paycheck for. You should want to help because it's the right thing to do.

My parents gave me an allowance simply so I could learn about money and learn to spend it wisely.

you should get an allowance increase for doing more than taking out the trash. just start washing the dishes after dinner and running the vacuum on the weekend, washing your clothes and the towels and washclothes for the week, clean the bathroom, help your siblings if you have any do something. there is plenty that you can do but stop expecting to get paid for everything though. i bet if you start doing even some of the things above without asking for more money then they will just give it to you. try it

At 14 I was doing the dishes, vaccuming, doing the laundry, helping with dinner, taking the trash out, helping with the yard work, keeping my bedroom clean, cleaning the bathroom and I didn't even get $20!
Just help out with as much as you can handle and hopefully they'll see all of your hardwork. Ohh and don't forget about your schoolwork too. Parents love those A's.

Umm, not meaning to make your mad or anything, but you shouldn't expect your mom and dad to pay you for doing chores.

Kids are SUPPOSED to help regardless of whether they get an allowance or not. Parents work hard to provide food, clothing and shelter and it's ungrateful of a teenager to ask for money simply because they are helping maintain the house.

Don't ask for more money. I agree with the lady above. What you really need to do is look for more ways to help your parents and show them how grateful you are that they care for you.

you may desire to not assume your mom and pop to pay you for doing chores. teenagers are meant to help in spite of whether or not they get an allowance or not. mothers and fathers artwork stressful to furnish foodstuff, clothing and shield and that's ungrateful of a teenager to ask for funds because of the fact they're assisting safeguard the homestead. do not ask for extra funds. What you truly could desire to do is seem for extra the right thank you to help your mothers and fathers and instruct them how thankful you're that they shield you.
