I was wondering if anybody else on here gets "parenting money" from their husband for taking care of the kids all week?? I get $100.00 every sunday for taking care of me and my fiancee's 14 month old son(i also have a 9 yr old daughter that i also take care of but i get child support for her)then every sunday on my "day off" i spend it on me for clothes and going to the movies and whatever else my heart desires.

I give my kids three mental health days during the school year. It's basically they get to pick a day, any day as long as there's no tests or big assignments they forgot to do., out of the school year to sleep in and spend time with mom and just relax. They can only use one day a month and if they break 3 rules in a day, they lose a day. Do you think this is right, because my in-laws are telling me I'm ruining my kids balance and lifestyle by this. What do you think?

He has ADD and is medicated so I do not believe that is the problem. He says he just do not want to do it. We have tried punishing and rewards. I am at a lost at what to do any more. He is 11 and in the 5th grade. He is smart and is capable of being on the honor role .

My daughter just turned 3 and has done good at the potty training thing, as long as she has to pee. But she still wont go to the potty to poop. Even if we take her to the potty and tell her to poop or if we ask her every hour. She knows its gross, cause she will come to me with her head down and say "Moma, I poopoo'ed." My husband feels she knows better and should be punished when she poops in her panties. I dont know if I think that is the best solution. I have never potty trained a girl before, so I dont know if it is harder for them to learn to poop in the potty than it is for them to pee in it.

Okay i am 27 yrs old and my hubby is 35 we have been married 6 yrs not so happily he cheated and i cheated to get back at him (but he does not know that). The man i had an affiar with was an ex.bf from highschool that i met while at the mechanics(he is the owner of the shop). It was very emotional and i still have feelings for this man.I ended the affair and went to therapy with my hubby.I found out i was pregnant with twins during this time an never questioned patenity till now because of certain features on my daughter and son (i see my ex.bf in them but am not sure if its guilt). My kids are 3.5 yrs old and hubby i have been seperated from my hubby 1.5 yrs.I think getting a paternity test done on my kids will ease my mind but am afraid to because i have bad feelings they are not my husbands?I want whats best for my kids what do you think?

I have a 1 yr old, a 3 yr old and a 5 yr old. I am married. husband works full time, I stay home.
I cant seem to do both housecleaning and child rearing at the same time. If I concentrate on the kids, i can only get enough of the housekeeping done to prevent the house from stinking. If i concentrate on the housekeeping, the kids are miserable and fight for attention all day long. HOW does this work for ANYBODY? What do you do? How do you and your spouse work together on it?

My stepson is living under my roof, paying no rent and has no futuer. We set him up to go to college for free and he showed up 2 hrs late for his interview. My wife protects him every time we have a discussion.
He has now just bought a truck from his real dad that his dad told him was worth $20,000 but only is charging him $3,000. The kid is working two low paying jobs and is going no where. What should I do?

My husband just got a new job, where he should be making double what he made before. We both have always worked because I make more per hour than he did, but I dont always get 40 hrs a week, and even though he usually did get 40 hours, he has to pay childsupport for his other kids, and his job provided health insurance while mine doesn't. A few people have asked if I will stop working now that he will be making so much more, but I don't feel this is the right time. We have credit card debt, due to unexpected expenses (Car repairs, plumbing leaks, etc.) and we have a 35 yr old house that needs major work (new roof, has rotting wood, water damage, etc.) and I think we should dig ourselves out of debt before I stay at home. I would love to stay at home with my kids, but not if we have to stay in debt and not have extra money for unexpected expenses or for fun things like family vacations, Christmas and birthday gifts, etc. Should be get caught up before I quit working?

I just saw a question asked yesterday, but already closed to new answers, where the woman asked if you would allow your children to be around a Siberian Husky. The person who got the best answer commented that they would not because Huskies are part wolf and can turn on someone in a heartbeat. This question struck a nerve with me, because I have 4 Siberian Huskies and they have never been violent or dangerous to me or anyone else, including my children. Also because Huskies are no more "part wolf" than any other breed of dog. That is a myth. I understand peoples fear about Pit Bulls, since you hear so many stories of them being breed to fight and that they have attacked people, but why would someone assume based on the looks of a peticular dog, that they are unsafe to be around children?

Yesterday i saw my neighbors kids, around 7-8 outside flying a kite in the street. Overhead powerlines everywhere. I started to say something but their mom was sitting in the yard on her phone yacking away-not even paying attention to the kids. I didnt want to disturb her important call.
Is flying a kite near powerlines dangerous?

Ever since she came back from her dads like 6 months ago, she go to bed very late! Me and my fiance try to put her to sleep and have the lights out and say we are going to sleep and she just turns everything back on just to play!

Just last night my daughter asked to play out on our back pattio. Normally I wouldn't let her go out side by herself but her daddy was going back and forth to check the grill and I was standing right in front of the window doing dishes so we let her. Long story short I look up and she's gone. All you parents out there know what that feels like, sheer panic. We yell for her, go next door(there is a little girl there her same age that runs freely) she's not there. We finally find her across the street with our neighbor playing on her swingset in her back yard. This is the first time she has ever done this. Aparently the neighbor girl asked our daughter to come along and the woman whose yard they we're in had no idea that our daughter didn't have permission to be there or would have notified us asap. We have grounded her so far. No cartoons, no paytime, no outside time with friends. We talked to her about what she did and that it was wrong but she still says she dosent get it. HELP!

My son is 7 months old and has been going to his babysitter for 3 months now. He is nice and settled there and seems happy. The problem is though, she is running an in home daycare that is not yet certified. The ratio even in her hand book is not to be above 6:1. She just took on 2 more kids which makes her ration 7:1 and she has 3 of her own small children. I am very unhappy about this. She seems to think that the older children ranging from 2-8 can play together while she watches the 2 babies. I just don't see how she can take care of all those children. I want my child to have great care. I don't feel comfortable with the amount of children she is taking on, but I don't want to take my son from daycare to daycare either. How do I bring this up to her? What should I do? I am really upset about this.

I want to adopt a child, but I hear it is quite a process to adopt from the state. Where you have to become a foster parent first.

I guess, I want to know what types of options are available in the US before I start looking at out of the country.

I don't want to get attached to a child and then, not be able to adopt him/her, due to paper work. I mean I understand, it is a long process from what I hear.
