yes by this time he can eat a full jar of stage one. Make sure you only introduce one flavor a week this will help to Identify an allergy if he gets one.Its best to introduce veggies first because if you give fruit first thats all he/she will want.Never use a baby food feeder your baby will need to learn to controll a spoon. If your giving baby cereal that's great as long as your not mixing it in the bottle which can be a choking hazard always feed it to baby with a spoon.

Of course! He needs to learn slowly and correctly, about eating times, and the schedule (that you need to adhere to due to his growing up). About half a small jar or whatever he is willing to eat at a time. It may be good to heat a little bit up on a paper plate in the microwave (just a few seconds though), let it cool, (test by touching the spoonful to your lip, to make sure it's not too hot). And, you can probably start giving him some cereal, not in his formula, but as a food serving, then his bottle of formula. He will still need that up to a year, then milk. Take care.

The AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) recommends starting solids between 4-6 months of age. So your baby falls within this range and from that point it is up to you as the mother to decide what you are comfortable doing. If you want to start to introduce solid foods it is best to start with a single food and feed baby only that food for 3-5 days so that you can monitor the baby for any allergic reactions. After that period, you can move on to another food choice if you choose to do so.

I always started with single (stage 1) veggies and moved onto fruits after we cycled through all of the veggies.

My question in return is... Are you putting the infant cereal in the bottle? I ask this because normally it is NOT recommended to put infant cereal in a baby's bottle unless there is a medical reason for doing so as directed by the baby's pediatrician. It wasn't clear if you meant you're putting the cereal in the bottle or mixing it in a bowl with the formula.

Good luck!

My daughter is 10 months previous and he or she by ability of no ability enjoyed rice cereal and isn't any longer a extensive fan of juice the two. I first tried feeding her rice cereal at 4 months, once you think approximately that she did no longer like it, I waited until eventually finally she became into approximately 5 a million/2 months previous and all started her on toddler nutrients. I fed her vegetables first, then end effect. on an comparable time as she does unlike rice cereal, she does like the toddler oatmeal (Beechnut type) mixed with juice or toddler pears which must be some subject which you will possibly desire to to purpose.

i'm not a fan of adding cereal to the bottle however, at his age, a few spoonfuls of very thin cereal from a spoon is fine. especially if he's a big baby and is very hungry. i wouldn't start anything else til he's about 6-7 months though and then i would start with pears or applesauce.

As long as your son can hold his head up and has a good swallowing reaction it is ok to give him the whole jar if he wants to eat it.. my son who is almost 8 months stated eating whole jars at about 41/2 5 months and he is happy and healthy.

Definitely- kids progress thru foods at different ages- everyone yells not til after five or six months- my son absolutely refused to eat anything near related to baby food after seven months. Start giving him just the cereal and then start with the veggies and stuff that is really good for them but isn't too sweet.

Of course it's fine, My son started having the 4 month rice cereal when he was 4 months, we just made it up a bit runnyer than what is suppose to be, then we put him on simple things like apples and pumpkin. just introduce 1 type of food per week. I hope all goes well for you

Jay C - I know that your doctor told you to do certain things. I am an experienced mother - my daughter is 27 now. Here is my best baby advice for all new mothers. Listen to what people tell you to do including doctors, your mom, mother-in-law, etc. and then do what your gut tells you. Understand that this is your baby God trusted you to take care of it - now take care of it!! I started my daughter with little tastes of different foods and by the time she was 7-8 months old she was off baby food and eating table food. She is fine-lol Follow your instincts and relax try the extra food if you want --just remember that once you start that baby is going to want more.

of course!!! if he can swallow cereal then he can swallow baby food the only thing is not to introduce too many different foods at once due to risk of allergic reation to something.....so try a veggie for a couple of days then if hes good move on to a new fruit or veggie....dont listen to those who way hes suppose to be x amount of months old....your his mommy and youll know when he is ready....always remember that you are the only one who knows him best so do what ever your gut tells you to do not a book dr or someone on here :)
