My friend told me that she dipped the baby's pacifier in whisky because she read that it was ok (somewhere online). The baby is 11 months old. I totally disagree with this method, but is it really ok?

I am going to be 24 yrs old and my young uncle he is almost 16 yrs old.He lives with me and my husband currently and i grew up with him because my parents took him in.He became to much of a hassel for them though so he came to live with me.As a person he is very shy and quiet only recently coming out of his shell this year. This year he has his first real gf and i wanted to make sure everything was okay because his school only teaches to abstane. So i went to planned parent hood and got packets with safe sex info and highlighted the important stuff.I also put some condoms next to them. I attached a note telling him that i love him and wanted him to wait for the right person for sex but that i wanted him to be safe.

If so, what is it, and why?

I'm not talking about an illegal profession, I'm talking about something perfectly legal in all 50 states, but that you would deter your child from going after at all costs.

My wife and I have three young children. Two boys and a girl.

I think we are entering "activity" overload. It has become so that on weekdays from the time I get off work till bed we are in juggle mode. Dance, Karate, pewee football, soccer, church group cubbies, gymnastics.
Have any of you other parents figured out where to draw the line.

My 3 year old has been battling what I think is a cold since xmas. I took him to see a doctor about 3 days ago and they gave him a antibiotic called erythromycin, which he has never had before, and yesterday he woke up with a fever of 99.8 and carried it all day and then he devoloped this rash all over his body that looks like sunburn and now today he had a fever of 101.2. Do you think this is a reaction to the meds?

My step-daughter has lived with her father and I for nearly 4 years now. She is almost 10 years old. I want to be able to help her get over her feelings of abandonment and her anger towards the living situation she is in.
Her bio-mom hasn't seen her since May and has not spoken to her on the phone since May. Not because we don't let her, but because she doesn't come around and doesn't call!

How can I help my step-daughter...it seems like it is hurting her so much. Expecially not seeing her bio-mom's other kids (she has 5 others). Hubby and I have tried to explain things to her but it doesn't seem to help....

Any suggestions??

There are lots of sensible reasons not to have children: damage to teh body, damage to the environment, damage to the career, sex life and finances. What makes women sho say they don't want kids all through their twenties and early thirties change their minds? Motherhood is a big deal! It involves lots of cooking and cleaning and driving to soccer practice and worry. What makes this suddently attractive to women of a certain age?

I'm 31 and I am very tired of people telling me I'll change my mind. Surely if people want a child to care for there are lots of neglected children in foster home, why the big attraction of making new ones?

My son Rajiv had a letter or fantasy he wrote and I found it disturbing. He is 16 years old and he was talking crazy in the letter. He mentioned sitting on his couch nude and masturbating to Hilary Duff? Who is duff. His fantasy was a degrading one as she was calling him all kinds of names as he was doing this. He is such an innocent boy who just came from India. I am worried now. He was talking so bad. He kept saying that she was calling him tiny and waving her pinky at him. What the heck is that? Can someone help me? Should I send him back to India?

During a conversation with my ex-girlfriend recently, she mentioned she had to tell her young daughter off for using foul language.

No problem there.

What she then told me was that a woman she used to know stopped her daughter from swearing by making her drink a glass of water with washing up liquid in it after many threats of doing so.

Also, although she never did, or never would have carried it out, a woman I knew once swiftly stopped her son from swearing while she was doing her make-up by telling him if the bad language didn't stop, she'd use her lipgloss on him.

Do you agree with these methods?

I found a letter on my sons desk where he was talking about some sick things. We are Hindu Indians and I may be naive of what he was saying but he wrote about being nude on his knees masturbating in front of 5 beautiful white girls while they waved their pinky finger at him? What is this about and should I get him counseling?
