sex is a choice. keeping a baby is a choice. wrecking your car is an accident. breaking an ankle is an accident. i was an unwed teenage mom. i paid for my own CHOICE. i had health insurance and i got a job and i'm proud to say that i've never been on public assistance. i do however have 3 sisters 2 of which have been on public assistance but they still provide for their child. you and i may have been in positions where we stepped up but some people lack the gudiance and financial stability to do that. so i don't get your gripe.

It's a choice. I was once a single unwed teenage mother. Still single still unwed but in college. Doing it on my own. Always have always will. Work and going to college is my choice to keep myself off assistance. but there are some single unwed teenage mothers that want that public assistance so therefore they keep popping out kids.

Is sex an accident or a choice. Two answers to this question....If it is consensual and both parties agree, then it could not be defined as an accident.

Was it forced upon a girl? Then it would be defined as rape...which also would not be considered an accident, it would be considered a violation.

and everything that tlakkamond said.

It is a choice. Everything in life is a choice. Even the baby. You chose to have sex, so you chose to take the chance of having a baby. I know it's hard to get yourself out of the moment once you are caught in it, but even I have experienced that moment and had thoughts running through my head of "maybe we shouldn't" but still continued on. That thought is always there in your head of whether or not this is a good or bad idea. There are no accidents. "Accident" is a word made up to describe something no one wants to fess up to. Simple as that.

Ive never had an accident, Ive been taken advantage of but that's different. and by the way, we (the tax payers) generally pay for the unwed teenagers to have kids, that's why they keep doing it, because they aren't held accountable for their actions

Sex is a choice. However, a baby can be a suprise. I've had two suprises. Just because a baby is a suprise doesn't mean than someone can't take care of it financially. If they can't, there is always adoption. I don't get why someone would have sex in the first plcae if they can't afford a child. Even while on birth control you can get pregnant.

Sex is a choice and parents of these teens should keep better track of them to make sure they dont end up pregnant or fathering a baby before they are ready, at the very least until they are 18 and legally responsible for themselves, and hopefully by that time they "wise up".

sex and pregnancy dont have to go hand on hand. Sex is a choice and an accident to me is if birth control failed. If a person uses no protection and gets pregnant, that's not an accident.

Most definitely a choice. As well as these teenagers chose to keep their children. There are so many different options that so many are so ignorant to. But fortunatly are being explored here today and discussed.

Unless it's rape, it's a choice.

Such a choice can be affected by many things, though:

- Alcohol and drugs.
- Age of the person.
- Mental state/sanity.
Etc.

The critical issue is to determine when it is a conscious, informed choice.
