My husband and I took our 2 children to the park for a few hours yesterday and saw a kid with a mohawk. He must have been like 7 or 8 or so. His mom was white and his dad was Mexican. Can you believe he had a mohawk? It wasn't a fake one either, it was real. I would NEVER let my son get a mohawk.

I am a mom of seven kids but ,y husband stays at home as he can do some work from home. Instead of having to collect the kids from school and lugging the little ones around in the car,he is involved in a school run with two of the mothers in the school, meaning he brings,my 14yr old&12yr old daughter home with two other boys every third day.
I would say that in comparison to other parents my husband and i are quite strict, its not nice but we know it is best for the kids that we take a firm hand with them. One thing in particular that I am quite strict on is bedtime.Partly because my kids are up@6.30&they are kids that can't function without a good nights sleep. As I'm working,I really can't cope with grumpy kids. They go to bed at 8.30 and 9.00&although they complain its too early we have experimented with later times&they ended up fallin asleep in the car in the morning.
The other night they were both in bed at the usual time but they were hyper and messing, running around play fighting

We just did the park and library thing yesterday, I have a 6 and 4 year old. I'm a broke sahm, and trying to find something or somewhere to take them that is fun. Just found out the rolling rink would be almost $20! Can't spend more than $5. Don't start telling me I shouldn't have kids because I'm married to a providing husband, he does his best but doesn't make too much, just barely enough to pay for basics. I just got a new career started and haven't gotten first paycheck yet, that won't be till the end of the month. Just trying to entertain two kids and do somthing special for them. I feel bad that I can't do more for them right now. Any suggestions?

Okay i am in my first year of college and a commuter.I choose to go to a 2 yr college instead of a 4 yr (even though i got into 3 colleges that were 4 yrs)so i could figure out what i wanted to do and be with my bf.My parents feel like i made a mistake by doing this but are paying for my college tuition and most of my car insurance(i only pay 12.50 a week that goes toward it). They found out that i was lending money to my bf that was not being paid back. Now they say that they wont be giving me any more free spending money for clothing or help with nessary's?I have always loved modeling and acting wanting to do it for fun or a hobby. They said they have signed me up for barbrazion a school that gives classes for modeling/acting/personal development saying it will be my last gift.Parents seem to want to cut me off finanicially with the exception of college tuition over a bf?Is this fair?

If parents want to protect their kids why dont they adopt the train kids how to protect themselves policy.

Ie teach the kid to be street wise, teach it to fight and fight adults, swim, handle relationships etc.

Why keep a kid innocent ie stupid. Surely streetwise is better?

ie www.kravmaga.co.uk as opposed to judo.

Or is it more about control?

Do you not realise that it can cause incredible damage where the kid will grow up unable to fit in with peers or look after self in uni or cope? or end up stuck with you till 30 maybe 40?

And you cant be there all the time so why not teach it to look after self.

My daughter moved out over a year ago with her boy friend. The car is in my name and she hasnt made a car payment or insurance payment in over 11 months. Neither of them have a job, and live with his mom in the basement. If I take the car back she will not be able to go to collage, (she gets lousy grades) or get a job. Shes 22, and he drives the car.

Even after 15yrs of marriage and seven kids my husband and I are still very much in love. Before&during Christmas there just didn't seem to be any time for us to be alone. Normally we pick one night of the week get all the kids in bed by eight, run a bath&have a nice romantic evening of peace and quiet but we hadn't even managed that.
As a result my husband took me away for the wkend recently&we had an amazing time,it completely rekindled our love for one another&our confidence in the strength of our relationship.Naturally enough I was not ready to come home but we had to.
Now tho I find myself in a bit of a predicament, I am obsessed with getting him into bed and having passionate sex like we had over the wkend. On saturday night2of my older kids were staying w/ friends so I bathed the three little ones together&had them all in bed by 6.45!So we had the night to ourselves. Is it natural or fair to want to get your kids out of the way, following my previous posting on the accidental

One of my bestfriends in school is always getting in trouble for his bad attitude to school. His parents are always called into see the principle and form teacher. He is a good kid I guess he just doesn't really like school n he finds it real difficult.
He always tries to impress older bad kids n he got caught stealing cigerettes for them in a seven eleven.
He told me he was in real big trouble n that i wouldnt understand,im alway gettin narked at by my parentals so i didnt think much of it.
i asked him to come sufing with me afer school last week but he said he was getting a home boot camp, when i asked he was real vague about what went on n now im curious,is it normal for parents to do this?

My son is trying to tell me that it is his and his brother's turn to be parents and that I have no right to tell their children what to do. I do not agree with this especially when the parent has a problem setting boundaries.
