Nope! I do not spank or hit my children. I am here to protect them and teach them right from wrong. how can I do that if I am the one hurting them?!

No No No No!
Smacking children just teaches children to be violent. Once you lose contraol (which you must have done to smack in the first place) your child has beaten you! The most impoartant thing with regards to discipline (which is essential I know - though I hate the word discipline) is that you remain calm.
There are so many other techniques which are way more effective than corporal punishment.
You cant hit an adult without being prosecuted, why the hell should you be able to hit a child?
That's my opinion anyway!

Hitting your children will only make them HATE you and you don't want that. You think that it's the only way to get them to obey you and it's not true.
There are many other ways to get your children to listen and obey AND do it with a father's firm love.
READ: Positive Disipline by Jane Nelsen.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to disipline your children in a way that fosters self-esteem and respect for them? They will in turn respect and love you.
Please don't hit your children because it's what your dad did to you and you think it made you obey. Maybe it did work but only out of fear. You don't want your children to fear you.
Your child's future largely depends on how you raise them, PLEASE do as much research as you can and raise them better than you were raised. You can't change the past but you CAN change how you parent your own children.
Please trust me.... I would know. I HAVE been able to break the chain of abuse. It may have happened to me, my mother and grandmother but it has stopped with me.
The most important thing you will do in this life will be to father your children. Love them. Enjoy every minute with them, they will be gone soon. Send them into the world with as much self-esteem as you can. As a father your reach is more than you will ever know.

I give my daughter little smacks when needed. I think that time outs are better which I am starting to do but I believe sometimes they need a little spanking.

no i got a 3 week old and 5 days little girl anyways why would you want to hit them if they did something wrong just take something from them that they love alot and send them to there room but anyways your crazy for asking that.

I am not against spanking or a slap on the hand. I myself don't do it though. And don't judge others that do. Of course, I don't agree with beatings.
