i am worried my son will suffer from the same mental illnesses his father and I suffer from. What are the chances he will suffer from them to?

so the paternal grand mother just found out she is a grand mother and has a 9 month old grand son. Her son never told her and just did at thanksgiving because he now has to pay child support. She was hurt and furious! The son is 28 years old and isn't owing up to being a poppa....his father said if he isn't involved in the child's life they shouldn't be because it will only confused the child and the sister...aunt needs to detach herself emotionally and physically from the baby and not talk to the mom anymore. Personally, I think it's bullshit. The child will not be confused if you give a child everything they need, tell them the truth, and they have a strong stable environment...in which that is possible and great role models. I think this family is selfish and needs to tell their son to be a man. He is 28 years old and the real mom just found out she has a grand child!!! Well what are her rights if she wants a relationship with her grand child?

Okay, I have this project for history due tommorow.. [end of the quarter].. and I have like 100 [literally] math missing assignments to do.. and it's 10:43 PM already.. my mom is like dead asleep.. so she can't go buy me the stuff I need for my project right now.. I guess I was just goofing off this whole week.. [suntanning, football, etc] but I need some good excuse I can tell my mom to write it on a piece of paper and then turn it in to the teacher so I can have till Wednesday? 10 points to best excuse.

My friend's son asked his dad (my friend) if he and one of his friends could use the family car for a road trip going half way across the country for about a week. He said that he will be happy to give the family his somewhat less reliable car to use. My friend said no way at first, but is now starting to consider it. I think he is starting to think that if he says no, his son will try to do it in his own unreliable car. He asked me for my advice and I know that they are both really good kids and would never do any drinking, partying, etc (not to mention they are both Mormon). I'm just not sure if it's a good idea or not, though. Any parents out there who want to give their input.

I know a couple who bought a 1.4 million, 4600 sq.ft home and it has a theater room and she was all like "its for the kids" I dont get it...you want your kids in front of the screen that much?

madeover on tv shows on HGTV, like say a theater room or whatever...often these people live in huge homes in rich areas???
Why is that...it seems like they only go to well off neighborhoods and help them design their homes...not poorer areas, why is this???
Is this fair to you?
I really am not interested in seeing some rich princess mom get a room madeover when their room is like 4 of my rooms put together...you know what I mean?

under the British Columbia - Canadian Law is if a father is absolutely not in the child's life and the mother wants nothing to do with the father because he is a danger to the child is she allowed or is it possible to make up the father's name on the birth certificate or use a family members name? Cause I babysite tommorow, and if it doesn't go better, I am not plannign to go back Thursday...

And what do I tell the mother. How is this? 'I feel that when the kids don't listen to me that it is somehow my fault. And as we have discussed, your daughter, won't listen to me and is not that nice to my daughter.' (I bring my daughter with me to their house). There are other reasons, but those ones started all the other ones

that sounds really blaming.. should I just lie and say I found something else?

My daughter has a few pairs of blue jean shorts that she always wears. She changes them every day though-she has like 5 pairs of the same kind. She wears them all the time. I mean ALL the time, except for when she is taking a shower. She even wears them underneath jeans and skirts whenever we go out places. I discovered this two months ago and I asked her about it. She was embarrassed and she said that she didn't know why she did it but she felt naked when she didn't have them on. I made her go to school without wearing them underneath her jeans once and it drove her crazy she said she felt uncomfortable all day. I've never heard of this issue before. I've talked to friends and they have never heard of it. Has anyone ever heard of someone doing this? What caused her to start doing this? Does anybody know how I can get her to stop this habit? Why does she feel she has to wear these shorts all the time to be comfortable?

Even if she get up at 5 am, she is still up until 11, 12 and sometimes even 1 am. She has not taken naps since she was about 18 months old. My husband and I have tried laying in her bed with her, reading stories to her and numerous other things. Any advise will be greatly apprieciated. Thanks!

While my ex and i were dating (for about 6 months) my 4 year old son (whos mom left 3 years ago) got really attached to her, and she got just as attached to him. He loves her and she loves him like he were her own. I decided a couple of days ago I didnt want them to have any contact, hes VERY upset but im only doing what i think is best for him. Hes upset but ive talked to him about it, i just dont know what to say to her. Any suggestions ?

And even if i did decide to let her see him and even if she wanted to adopt him one day, would that be legal, could she adopt him ? (you know like adopt when people get married and the kids are adopted by the spouse)

Can somebody please I am at my wits end I have a 7 and a 5 year old daughter and all day long it is a constant game of tattle tale and when I speak its as if they have all of the sudden lost hearing everyone tells me that kids will be kids but it has to end somewhere there has to be limits. I am not into beating my children but I have given them swats on the butt, but when I turn around or leave the room they are at it again!!!!!!! Somebody please help me!!!!!

How do you get your kids to listen to you?
I have a five year old boy that will NOT listen to me!
I tell him to clean his room and he says " NO, Cause you do it "
Or He will sit there and argue with me about random things.
He thinks it's funny to say hurtful things to me or To try to hurt me!
He will push my buttons for hours to try to get me screaming mad.
I try to ignore him bad behavior and praise his good behavior but that does not work either. He DESTROYS everything in site that I own.
He has ADHD and SPD. I NEED help and Ideas on how to get the respect and have him know that I'm in charge and he isn't.
I have tryed giving him more responsiblity's and more choses but it has made it worse. A friend told me that if you give him a little then you will get a little in return but that did not work. I have been trying to do that for a few months now!
I need any tips on how to deal with this or if you know of any books that would be helpful.

Have any of you all noticed that the last few pounds is the hardest to lose i have tried everything from eating right and exercising and it seems like the extra skin above my incision site just won't go away. Has any of you had this problem as well and if so how did you get it to go away???
