Teens often accidentally get pregnant, but have you ever heard of a teen "accidentally" getting married? Of course not, because you can't accidentally get married, but it is all too easy to accidentally become pregnant. That's why there are so many unmarried teen parents.

Most teens dont mean to get pregnant. The ones who have a baby are the once who have the family there to help them out. Im sure that it is/was very hard on them, but to get married at 15/16 or even 17 will be even more hard. What if the father of the baby wants nothing to do with the child? Someone who is that young should not get married because most of the time it will not work out. They have a hard enough time trying to raise a baby and go to school. Besides in the world today you dont need to be married before you have a child. You dont even have to get married after the child is born. Alot of people out there have been with there partner for years and years, and have a family together, but are not married. There is nothing wrong with that.

This is so irritating to me, just because they are not married does that make them any less of parents. I know some girls that are single teen-aged mom's and I think they are doing better than some of the older married women. I don't believe two people should get married because there is a child involved. two people should get married because they love each other and WANT to get married. I myself have a 14 month old baby boy and I have been with his father for over 5 years and we are engaged to be married but we want to do it when we are ready not when other people think we are ready. Does that make me any less of a mother, my son has clothes on his back, food in his belly, and if you ask me is the happiest little boy I have ever met. We will be married in May ( upon our choosing ) but because we are getting married does that mean that it will affect the way we are raising our child?? NO it won't, he will still be the same happy natured baby boy that he has always been. I hate it when people judge other young mothers because they are not married. But if you also check out the statistics of divorces between people there is a higher rate of those now isn't there?? Just because a couple has a baby with or without being married doesn't mean that they are bad parents or bad people. We will raise our son how we see fit. My fiancee' comes from a very good family, very well rounded and traditional on some things, but his mom and dad got divorced and my parents are divorced so that is why we don't see a huge deal in getting married right away, we both love each other with all of our hearts and will be here for each other no matter what we just don't need a piece of paper to tell us that we love each other.
I really wish people wouldn't focus so much on the negativity and focus on positive things. People are so quick to point out an unwed teen-aged mother but don't speak about how good of a job she is doing and what she is doing to provide for her baby. goodness I think people are too quick to judge. I hate the looks I got when I was pregnant from some people because when I don't have make-up on I look really young and it made me so mad, I actually had a women come up to me and my fiancee' once and tell us that we had no business having a child because it was quite apparent that we weren't ready for a child, meanwhile we were both dressed really nicely, my son was dressed nicely and she knew nothing about us but just took a look at us and immediately judged us based on all the negativity around teen-aged mothers. it is quite sad actually the way society is now a days. but i guess that is life. all i know is that we are doing well and my son has everything that he needs so that to me is all that matters not what a stranger on the streets thinks.
To the guy below me:: I do NOT think I threw my life away, my son is my WORLD he means everything to me and if I could go back in time and change things I WOULDN'T. My son means way more to me than going out and partying and getting drunk. I am still going to school and I am still doing the other things I want to do so by now means have I ruined my life. Granted I am not a teen-ager anymore I am 21 years old but I still wouldn't take back having my son he is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Since you cannot marry until 18 then many of the statistical years (13-17) are misrepresented. 33 out of 47 (18-19 year olds) are married however, and many of the younger ones are engaged to be married.

I think it's disturbing. But not being married does not mean that you are not in a commited relationship with the other parent. Marriage is taking on a whole new image and many people are deciding not to travel that road. I would also be curious about other age groups having children while not married.

not all of those are unavoidably real. some adult men like clever, shy and quiet females (as antagonistic to stupid). each thing, rather, relies upon on who the guy is, what he's like, and his faith would impression it to three quantity. i don't be responsive to if this question is directed particularly to adult men, yet i be responsive to quite a few people who're not much like the above 10 information, or comments, or despite you prefer to call them.

Why is it that everybody thinks you should be married to have children? I have been with my fiance' for 5 years now and have a 14 month old son. We are planning on getting married, but it is not first priority. People always ask why we aren't married, and it is so irritating. Sometimes it is better if the parents aren't together.

I blame society for this because everywhere you go and see on tv are images of sexuality. Sex has become so casual that most teenagers think its normal to sleep everyother guy that comes their way. When you try to shelter your kids from this people call you old fashioned. I call it LOVE for my children!!!!!!

I think the sadder part is that there are teens throwing away their youth over procreation. You must live a very boring life to want to do that. Thats what your mid-20 to mid-30s are for.....procreation. Enjoy your youth it only comes once!!!! Why do people want to grow up so fast.....do you live in a farm or third-world country?
