I suppose if you can afford that large of a home, does it really matter what's inside? Probably many of the rooms in that house will only get used about once a week at the most, so why should it be different for the theater room?

If someone buys a home that happens to have a theatre in it they probably aren't going to want to rip down the threatre and are most likely thinking the kids will enjoy it. That doesn't necessarily mean they are planning to let the kids live in that room. It just means its there, and it will be a nice thing for the kids to have when movie-watching time comes around (and all kids watch movies and television for at least some of their free time).

Didnt Arron Spelling have a gift rapping room.? If I had 1.4 million to spend on a room the you better believe it would have a theater room, along with a bowling alley.

I know people with kids who have theater rooms. I know people with kids who live in tiny houses. It seems to me well adjusted kids for the most part are from involved parents, not overly- involved houses.
It goes back to the old adage, "The things that matter most aren't things,"

I don't have a theatre room and my kids already watch too much TV.

I'm guessing this is their way of being "good parents" since you know they're going to be working 80 hours a week to pay for their McMansions.
