Is there ever a "right" reason and if you were spanked as a child, were you traumatized by it, or do you think it actually worked?

Also, at what age do you start and when is it not okay anymore?

As a man i wonder how can a woman who has gone through the process of giving birth once, get herself in the condition to have to go through it a second time! Have women short memories or are they all crazy!! Giving birth looks like the most scary thing ever, is it as bad as it appears?

Yeah, well, my baby boy's turning into a little jumpy frog, now that he's jumping around so much in it. He hasn't began to walk yet, and I was wondering, now, that I'm trying to get him to practice walking, all he wants to do is jump instead of taking steps. My question is, for those who really do have experience in these jumpers.
Are they safe to use? Will they delay his walking abilities?

My son is potty trained during the day, but still wears diapers to bed. He knows that he can pee in them (he hasn't pooped in a diaper for close to a year), so I'm afraid that he's using that knowledge as a crutch to not get up and use the toilet during the night. He has kept his diaper dry all night twice so far, but not in a row, so I think that he is capable of staying dry. Should I put him in underpants knowing there may for now be more wet nights than dry, or wait until he can consistently keep his diaper dry at night?

Don't get me wrong...My baby son is the best thing that had ever happened to me. He really completes me as a human, and I've never felt so compassionate and whole in my entire life. But lately, (maybe the fact that it's dead winter depression) I've been finding myself and supermom have been devoting all of our time to him, and basically leaving nothing for ourselves. Not trying to be selfish, or anything, but I really miss my outdoor activities, and eventually I think supermom will miss shopping for her own needs. I don't know...
My other question is, at what age will parents be let some slack to enjoy time for themselves? 3, 5 10, 18, 21???never???

It seems I blow up at my kids just all of a sudden. I'm usually calm but sometimes something dumb just makes me snap and lose my temper. I hate yelling and I find myself being just like how my dad was to us. I total jerk. So, I'm aware of the problem how do I calm down when something bothers me?? Thanks in advance?

I am writing a feature on 'Celebrating Motherhood' which will be a compilation of quotes from real mums. I'd like to hear heartfelt quotes that describe the love you feel, how kids have changed your perspective on the world, about any feelings of protectiveness/selflessness etc, how/why your children are a blessing, how kids have had a positive impact on your relationship with your partner or family/friends and any other comments that celebrate the joy of being mum!

I noticed something funny when answering a 'seven wonders of the world' questions. I saw an answer that was a naughty sexual answer obviously posted by a child. Once I clicked on the name I found the following question (which was actually a statement) she asked:

“Many times we have heard parents say, "The more we spank the more he misbehaves." Spanking makes a child's behavior worse, not better.”
http://sg.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070114011806AAopbB1

Her 7 wonders of the world answer is/was (I tagged it as abuse) at:
http://sg.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070114060125AAQn5nq

“My breasts,my husband's penis, his sperm,my mouth,my daughter's shiny hair...” and it continued on until her husband having sex with a child was described.

I’ve seen answers taking a stance against spanking that were child like but I wonder how many are actually written actually by a naughty little boy or girl that are not that easy to detect?

I asked a question about this earlier, but I ran out of room. I babysit my friends 4 yr. old son and two other children. I have 4 children of my own and do not understand how my friend can be so lazy. Her house reeks of cat urine, dishes overflowing and growing mold in sink, her son has come to my house with clothes reeking of cat urine as well. I've had to bathe him and wash his clothes. She spends a majority of her time on the PC chatting w/men. She has even gone as far as driving way out of state to pick up a man she's never met and brought him home with her to live with her and her son. He only stayed a week and went back home. Her son has come to my house wearing the clothes he wore the day before or wearing her socks because she didn't do laundry. I know he pretty much does what he wants while she sits online chatting as soon as she gets home from work. CPS has visited her a few times, she cleans up for their visit, then thinks go back to filth. When will she wake up?

befriend my 9 year old son? I'm not comfortable with the idea of such an older child "hanging out" with my son. I insist he associate with children in the same age bracket as him and he claims I'm being over protective.
Would you allow a 14 year old boy to play with a 9 year old boy? What could they possibly have in common with such an age difference?
