I agree with you on that 100%. Also remember that they have their limits - try to respect those so they know you'll always do your best by them, and they'll be able to better deal with the occasional bad day.
By limits I mean, for example, how long can they go in a baby seat without getting out and moving around, how often do they need some food, snack, or drink...things like that. For instance, if your kid's normal time limit between infusions of food is 2 hours, wanting them to go three is just asking for trouble.
Be consistent and predictable in a good way. Make sure to be inconsistent and unpredictable in a fun way sometimes too.

The most valuable thing i have learned is putting kids on a schedule at a young age and being consistent with it. So yes i agree with you!

Those are 2 very good qualities because children always want to know where their parents are and what they can expect from their parents. Change and insecurity have never helped a child.
A child functions best when he feels secure, loved and wanted.

That's a hard one, an abusive parent may be consistent and predictable with their abuse.

I believe love and understanding play bigger roles in childrens lives, be strict enough to control your child, but also think about their well being.

Setting limits. Period. Cosistency and predictability both stem from this.
