and always tried to drive a wedge between you and your kids, then proceeded to threaten to kill herself and told your daughter it would be her fault, would you stay with this person?

I just thought it might be important to know that I am one of the kids, she said this to my sister. I just can't figure out why he'd stay with her. We aren't children anymore, but she is pretty horrific towards us. Thanks.

Nope, wouldn't have it, kids come first. As a Mother it is your duty to protect your kids from everything and everybody.

No I wouldn't have stayed w/ her...but its easier said than done. Her threats are a form of manipulation-which is abuse. And yes men can be abused...usually not physically. But verbally, mentally, and emotionally, not to mention financially--YES.
She has manipulated him, and he's afraid to leave. Afraid his actions will cause harm to others.
Its terrible that he had forsaken his kids...but he surely did not do this on purpose. Open communication and forgiveness is the only way to heal. It takes time, but better to start now then let more resentment build...you may be surprised by how much or lack of how much he realizes what is going on and that its affecting and hurting his children.

um NO!
Seriously this is not good for anyone involved. I may sound a bit forcefull here but you gotta get rid of this girl. Sounds like she got serious emotional problems, and while its sad for her....the truth is that shes damaging you and your kids lives!
Please do something now to put an end to this.
If you feel bad for her then research where she can get help but dont let this continue.
Im feel strongly about this cos i was in the position of your kids when i was younger with my dad and his girlfriend.
Act now, your life will be so much better in the long run.

Report what she's doing to your sister to DHS. You may not be children anymore, but no one deserves what the 2 of you are going through!
Take care and good luck sweetie!

Personally, I would not, but you need to be careful. If she is threatening to kill herself, she clearly has some psychological issues here. I would consider trying some counseling - together, and separately.

I'd go to therapy to figure out why I was with such a person, and why I allowed such drama in my life. And then I'd go to therapy with my kids.

Darling, please live with me. I will make you so unhappy. I will estrange your children from you. I will kill myself and give you a guilt trip as bad as Judas and it will be all your fault. Stomp stomp stomp.
Er, not really.
