Obviously I can't just straight out ask because if they still believe in Santa, then I will have just spoiled everything for them. So without there fathers opinion I would like suggestions on how to figure it out? Thanks for any advice you can offer!

Would you kiss your own child? I mean think about it, that thing you kiss came out of your own penis. Wouldn't you think that's disgusting? I want a serious answer please.

She gives him all kinds of stuff that he shouldn't even be eating yet! Pizza, cheese, cookies, cake, ice cream, etc. Tonight she gave him a pretzel, and he gummed off a piece and choked til she finally got it out of him! I'm paranoid that she is going to call me one day and tell me he's dead because she is so stubborn that she thinks she knows what she is doing. She won't listen to me. What can I do? Should I call her pediatrician, or just keeping praying that he will survive her???????

A quick look at society tells us it happens a lot. Let's see how many will actually own up to it.

I am a firm believer in the fact that you cant be totaly indifferent to anything and still exist. So my question is what does trying to not teach about issues like love and trust teach kids about it? That its bad to talk about? Or that its a grown up thing not ment for them? Or something else? Or maybe they understand the issue better then the teachers/parents could so maybe we should be taking an example from them not the other way around? What is your thought on this issue?

I would like to know what people do to teach there kids about these things. Like do you teach your children about different beliefs on the subjects of truth and love ect... And also what do you expect to be taught about these subjects in schools?

My Mom has been raising my little sisters daughter for the past 3 years. My sister is 21 and takes no initiative to raise her own child... so my Mom has taken over and my sister can do whatever she wants. She still lives at home with my parents, goes to college (when she feels like it) and doesn't have a job. I am 28 and I have a son. I work only 1 day a week and my Mom watches my son (and my niece) just that one day. But I'm getting upset because she just doesn't seem interested in my son. She dotes on and is obsessed with my niece who she says is "more my (her) daughter than her (my sister) mothers!" I come back from work and she is ignoring my son who she leaves to roll around on the floor and is catering to my niece. It seems like she isn't into him and it breaks my heart. I'm starting to not even want a relationship with her anymore. I've tried to talk to her about this and she just says "I love them the same" but it's obvious that she doesn't. What should I do?

I posted a comment about my friend who had no children and her unwanted advice for me. I think people didn't get the whole story. I got upset with her cuz my kids were acting up (like climbing on tables) in the restaurant where we had lunch. Her advice was for me to ignore them she knows cuz she watches supernanny...I told her that I was sick of people who don't have children giving unwanted advice to mothers. I don't think people should impose their opinions on others especially when I didn't ask for it and when I was already aggitated with my kids who didn't want to listen. The whole incident sparked some bad childhood memory of her mother. So for some respondent who said I should listen to her...well I won't. I admit I don't know everything about parenthood and will seek advice when warranted; however, for someone who lacks experience in children and who's only bad experience is her own childhood, I won't seek advice from her. It's like asking a homeless man for financial advice.

After researching the state of the orphanages and many female Chinese orphans (many die in the orphanages), my fiancee and myself have decided that we would be much more fulfilled adopting a child from China as our second or third child, rather than adopting domestically, which is in no way an ideal situation, but where welfare is guaranteed.

I've researched a little on the process, from what I've seen it should cost somewhere between 15,000-25,000. Is this accurate?

Also, what should we expect in the adoption process, at what intervals do reports need to be taken and such?

Thanks for any information you guys have!

Our daughter is 3yrs and 8 months now. I was telling her the story about Santa Claus and she was getting real excited. But then my wife starts telling me that she doesn't think it's a good idea to give her false incentives to be good. She also gives the old "I never believed in Santa Claus as a child and I turned out fine" routine. As for me, I just don't see the harm in it- sure, one day we'll tell her the truth when she's old enough to understand that her parents are just doing it to give her a special experience once a year. For now, I'm just enjoying her excitement about Christmas.

So my question is: do you think there's any disadvantages to teaching your children the Santa Claus myth? Do you think children would be affected negatively because you told them blatant mistruths?

My theory is this: The younger you are and the more religious you are, the more likely you are to want big families. So please tell me how old you are, if you are religious, and just how many kids you want....

I have just got out my box of Christmas crackers ready for tomorrow. The box didn't quite look right. On closer inspection I discover that my 6 yr old son has twisted open every single one, removed the gift, hat and joke and then twisted them back together so they look the same on the outside.I am furious,I mean really out of proportion furious! Don't get me wrong I can see the humour in it,but after a year of unremmiting misery caused by this boy's behaviour it's just the last straw.Don't really want to do Christmas at all now.
