Do you think the age 1 is to young to start potty training? I started potty training my son yesterday and tomarrow he turns one. Iam not forcing him to potty train when he wants off the potty I take him off.
But since I started last night he has pooped 3 times in the potty and has peed 3-4 times. I think he is doing very well but I have been getting alot of negative input about it even though Iam not forcing him.

Usually males need less time to use a restroom than females. And moms often don't like to send their male children into a men's restroom alone so why not create family restrooms out of some of the male restrooms in public places. A family restroom could be restricted to women with children of either gender. No men or boys would be permitted over a certain age, perhaps 12.

This is my first time asking a question on here--I hope I don't get torn apart. I saw a question about parental advisory CDs, asking if the mother should get them for her daughter. I understand people have concern but I don't understand why. I believe in free thinking and letting my kids express themselves. I have raised my children knowing that art (lyrics, poems, stories, and films) are not always based on real life and not to take them literally. Why should we hold our children back from the music they feel like listening to, whether that be, Marilyn Manson, Hillary Duff, Brittany Spears, Slipknot, SOAD, The Backstreet Boys, or John Lennon? Shouldn’t we be raising our children to be free thinkers and let them feel liberated by their own music choices?

My exhusband and I share custody of my older daughter though she prefers living with her father. She's been mad at me for over one year. Ever since she found out i'm pregnant with her sister, she started hating me. These are the exact words that came out of her mouth: "i dont want a fatherless MISTAKE as a sibling. i dont want any siblings at all. have an abortion."
I ended up keeping the baby and love her very much. Yes, she wasn't planned but that doesn't change my feelings for her.
Anyway, my daughter ignored me for a few months and every time i tried to talk to her, she started yelling at me. Our relationship has improved alot in the past 3 months. We are talking again but she is still very distant with me. How can i fixour relationship? my daughter is talking to me now but she hates her little sister. She told me straight up: "dont expect me to babysit her, i never will. i hate her. dont expect me to love her". i thought her opinions would change, but she still hates her sister.

because i have seen a lot of white parents, and when their child is being loud and rude all they say is "jimmy quiet down." or "thats not nice honey". or if the kid did something REALLY bad, all the parents do is just sit down and have a talk with them. then say "just dont do it again. if it were my parents (i am filipino) they would yell at me and kill me. why are white parents like this (not all of them)?

My daughter asked if he could get a parental advisory cd today. She understands the reason between right and wrong. I don't know if I should start buying them for him. She is only eleven. I told her to wait until she is a thirteen and she got really upset. I understand she would like these CDs and really don't see reason behind not getting them for her. Would it be okay if I listened to them first and if I liked or approved of the content give them to her? Would I be concidered a "bad parent" for letting her listen to these CDs...or get into any legal problems? Thank you for your responses!

She is interested in these bands: Slipnot (???), Korn, Marilyn Manson, Simple Plan, M&M (???), System of a Down (???), John Lennon, Christina Agularia, and some panic band. I don't know who many of these people are. She seems to be going through this phase where she wears all black, is that normal? I guess I'm clueless when it comes to "cool" things.

I say uninvite because from my experience with my first birth family members just ASSUME they are invited. I basically want it to be just me, my husband, and daughter. We are likely going to do a homebirth, but in either case, how should I approach the situation? My own family realizes that we want our next birth to be a private affair because they have heard me complain enough times about how MIL crashed my first birth. She verbally said, "Yeah, I wouldn't want people there either" when we were casually talking about my upcoming baby's arrival, but she wanted a phone call when we went to the hospital. Announcing labor was OUR mistake because she took it upon herself to show up. I don't deal well with pain and discomfort when annoying people are hovering around me, so my feeling is we should just be upfront- "don't expect a phone call when we go to the hospital and we are doing a 2-week voluntary seclusion after to bond as a family, so we will call you when we are accepting visitors

He's a little to relaxed and getting kind of spolied what are some good age appropriate chores for him to do. He will do doing chores and being rewarded with video games, toys, and other things. So far he takes out the garbage, and clears the dinner table. He's very smart and handles these chores very well. I feel that I ca add one or two more small one to his list.

My 8 yr old dtr threw a note away at school that was to be sent home. This is the first time she has done this and probably not the last. She gets disciplined but not so bad that she would be too scared to show us the note. She said she threw it away because she didn't want to be grounded. Does anyone have any creative forms of punishment? (besides beating her :) ) I'm not sure what the note said but she was probably talking or not following directions in class.

I am a mother of a 2 year old who will be 3 next month her name is Isabella and i love her too death. I honestly never thought i could ever love someone this much. But i am afraid my parents did most of her raising for me this is my last year of college and my parents have decided to retire not too far still in the tri-state area. I have an apartment (rented)and my parents covered my tuition thus far and still do. I have a job part time i make about 800 dollars a week it pays for my books and anything else i may need but am concerned this might not be enough. The area the apartment is in does have frat houses and the like one is next door. For the most part they keep it down. My daughter has been with me living for three days and crys a lot today i was called out of class to go pick her up from daycare. How can i help her adapt better? I really cant afford to leave class?
