I really liked the Over-The -Shoulder- Baby Holder. I ordered mine from the lactation consultant, and was even able to pick the fabric. It was much nicer than the ones you can buy in the store, and lasted for four children. It covered me completely so that I could nurse discreetly in public. I used it until they were about eighteen months old, as I was able to place them on my hip later. It even has a little padding on the side where the baby's head will rest. Try finding them on the Internet. I think they were based in California. You will still need to use your hands to support the bottom of the sling while nursing, and to position them properly.

With practice you can probably nurse hands free in any sling. I used an Over the Shoulder Baby Holder. I would have liked to have had a Maya Wrap.
And for you smart alecs out there, some of us have more than one child to care for and slinging the baby can help us nurse and meet the needs of all of our kids at the same time. OR you can actually go out in public and do things like grocery shop while you are nursing discretely so people like Jellybean don't accidently catch a glimpse of an inch of skin and have a seizure.

i'm positive that what the different females suggested is large. yet, even as i develop right into a sparkling mom, 30 yrs in the past, i develop into' broke' and had to improvise. i develop right into a small woman and my toddler develop into also small. I took a lengthy sleeved blouse from my husband, a large guy and made an staggering sling. I tied the palms of the blouse at the same time round my waist. Then I grew to develop into the blouse round to my the front and placed my son in it and slipped part of it over one shoulder. As i develop into abode on my own, I placed the sling on my bare breasts and then placed on a button down blouse on accurate to save me warmth. He develop into content cloth and may want to nurse on call for. i develop into mushy and may want to bypass round. I used to change facets even as one breast 'were given drained'. you may make a sling from an previous mattress sheet or blanket also. And no crying or fussing till eventually it really is time the substitute diapers or stretch out for a sleep (both considered one of you!). sturdy success and God Bless you both! Gerrie

I don't know of a good sling, but isn't the point of nursing to bond with your child, not so that your hands are free?

You go to a store to buy one that is safe rather than making one your-self.
Unless your intrested in dropping your baby and killing it, which I am not!
