I am starting to do foster care and will be getting a girl that is 6, what types of things do they like to play with? Not sure if they are still in to dolls or what.. I have 3 boys so I have no clue.

Doll houses
Baby dolls
Barbie dolls and her accessories ......make sure the dolls have hair that can be combed and changes of clothes.
Stuffed animals.
Coloring books
Dress up costumes
She may have a musical talent so a little keyboard or xylophone might be nice.
jump rope
little plastic cooking utensils......and maybe a little miniature stove-refridgerator-vacuum--etc...etc.
These are the basics that you can start off with. When she comes...just watch her. She might be a little tomboy and like the toys that your boys have ;)
A good idea is to take her to a toy store as a way of getting to know each other. Then just let her pick out a few things that she likes.

When I was six I loved to play with "Littlest Pet Shop" dogs and cats. They dissapeared for a while and then they're just starting to come back. I personally thought the old design was MUCH cuter but these new ones look alright.
I used to sometimes even have Barbies adopt the little pets.

When I was six it was all about dolls, Barbie and any other kind :-) Dress-up clothes are great too, and you might already have a jump rope for something fun to do outside.

They love dolls and fingernail polish, umm anything dress up.. Barbie dolls, bratz dolls.. There is alot.

Polly pockets for sure, and Barbie dolls. My granddaughters have had their Polly pockets for six years and still love them. They push them around in cars, vans, she will love them!
