Do you really care? I have two small children and I don't care. I have to fly too and that is just the way it is. But I would like to add that my kids are awesome when we fly. We live in Japan and we've had to make 8-9 hour flights over the ocean. My kids are quiet. They keep busy with things we've brought for them to do and they sleep. We've never been on a flight where when we were getting off the plane someone didn't comment on how good our kids were during the flight. In 2004 there was a lady sitting near us who's kid was being terrible. She leaned over to me and asked, "How do you do it?!"

One thing we do is explain to our kids what is going to happen, what they should expect and the behavior we expect from them. We do this before we even leave the house. We do it for every situation and we've done it since they were still infants. It works.
