My daughter is turning five in September, Shes at an early learning center. They teach them to read and write. In most cases when she has to write she cries. She is colour blind and I believe as a girld she should't be. She can't write but she talks a lot even the things they do in class she explains them. You will think shes a clever kid by looking at her, hearing her speech.

Answered my question about single parents. All 97 of you. Was so hard to choose a best answer. But why do you think the question pressed so many peoples buttons (mostly in a positive way)? Seriously you guys, your answers made me even stronger!!

I just had a baby and the father did not sign the birth certificate. I have the affadavit, but he won't sign that either. If I go after child support, he will have legal rights to the baby. He is an unfit father (his wife was just arrested for domestic violence...yeah, his wife). I guess I could try to get custody, but I'm soooo scared that he will get to take the baby when he want's and I can't trust him with her. I'm afraid the money might not be worth it (even though I'm not going to be able to do all this on my own...without the help from family...hate to say it, but it's the truth).

I don't want her to have his last name. Also, the baby is 3 weeks and he hasn't contributed anything yet. He states that she doesn't need anything yet. Isn't that b/s!?! What advice do you have for me? Please....no harsh answers since I'm already bugged out by all this stuff to begin with.

What is worrying us is that we aren't sure how big of a change it will be for us and our daughter. When you brought home your second child, how different or difficult was it for you? How did your first child react?
Thanks!!!

I have 3 stepkids and if I am honest, I don't really like any of them.
The oldest daughter(13) is smartmouthed, a know-it-all, and a bully to the others. The youngest daughter(10) has been spoiled rotten by her mom and stepdad, and usually calls my husband by his name or her "stepdad, not her real dad", even though she knows that he is her real dad. His son (12) lives with us and has a really bad temper and attitude, he has made it very clear to me that "his dad is his only parent, and he doesn't have to listen to anything I say". Him and the oldest have both disrespected me and my husband both. The girls won't come over unless we are spending money on them and the son is constantly asking "Can you buy me this?" We are not rich! I am afraid that with the way I feel now, that I will never grow to like these kids. Right now, and I hate to admit this, but I dread having all three of them over here. Will this get better as they get older, or will I never like them?

Im currently in a relationship where my fiance has 3 children of her own ages 10, 11, and 3. I find that they all stick together when it comes to my adding new rules in our new home, and example would be rule#1 no junk food in the house. Response: my fiance goes and buys junk and hides it telling the kids not to tell me. This example is one of about five rules that I've made that have been broken. Should I in some way feel like my parenting opinion doesnt matter? And is it because the kids arent biologically mine?

Is all this sex and drug talk from teen girls scare you for the future of your children?
I know it scares the crap out of me. I have a 2 year old daughter and a 9 week old son and I am scared to send them to public schools. Seems there is so many teens uneducated about all this stuff! Why aren't there parents more involved in there lives?

I just recently won my son back (he's two) and I can't get my little bro to give me a minute with him. My bro's 17 and has a few screws missing, and I know he missed my son as much as I do, but I'm not sure how to tell him to leave my kid alone! Any advice?

Thanks,

My son is 51/2 years old and he just recently confessed to his grandma that he wanted to be a girl! She said that were in the store and he was looking at girl clothes and telling how much he liked them also he argued that goucho pants were boys pants. Please someone tell me how to approach this situation? There have been times when I have caught him doing fresh things to his little brother and also when he has stayed the night over relatives house I was told that he was kissing my cousin son in the mouth which is the same age. I am very angry and disappointed and I don't know how to talk to him about it so I yell at him and spank him and tell that I don't want no ****** for a son and this is not the behavior that little boys are supposed to display. Evidently this isn't working because the problem is re accurrent so does this mean that my son will be GAY or does this mean that he is just confused I dont know someone please help me!!

how do you feel about leaving your baby in nursery?
do work commitments pressure you to return to work soon?
and would you take a drop in pay to stay with your child until they are 3yrs?

2006-08-22 10:11:46 · 24 answers · asked by Anonymous

for those whose tots are in nursery? i watched my 2 yr old through the door window who suddenly after two weeks of going started crying when i left him( i left him twice a week for 3 hrs to get him socialised- i was not working) i could not be seen from the door.

after 5 mins he was still crying uncontrollably, and no one of the 3 carers tended to him even though one young girl was sitting next to him writing, i "felt that there was something wrong so i went in and told the "supervisor" i was disgusted and was taking him home we left the room, and went outside she asked me to come and speak to her boss the head of nursery, on the way she said i would still have to pay the remainder fees!!!

i then spoke to the manager who gave me bull saying maybe i was not ready to let go!!( he is my third) i was 34yrs old at that time and was desperate for a break, also iam experienced and very perceptive, anyway what i want to know is how can we really trust others to look after our kids?
