My daughter is 8 months old. I have been trying to wein her off of breast milk since she was 6 months old. She DOES NOT LIKE formula at all. She will not take breast milk out of a bottle. I know that You are not sopose to give children under the age of 1 cows milk but its the only thing that she will take. I am ready for her to be weined. She has teeth and she bites. I am ready to go back to work. Or just have a baby sitter for one night. My question is
HOW MUCH COWS MILK DO I GIVE HER FOR ONE DAY? She eats fruit for breakfast, I give her eather fruit or vegatables for luch and for dinner she has what ever my family has which includes meat a vegatable and some kind of side but we grind it up for her. During the day if she seems like she is not satisfied I give her fruit. She drinks about 1 bottle through out the day. But I also give her yougert and cheese. Am i doing the right thing?

My nanny works for me three days a week watching my two year old son. I pay her 100 dollars a day, plus free gas and lunch money. She told me today that she will be volunteering at a state run day care the other two days a week. One of the reson we pay for a nanny is so my son (who was born premature) wouldn't have to be exposed to all the germs assoceated with day care. Am I being unreasonable?

I heard the stories, I was told it would happen, but when did I turn into my parents? I have 3 kids of my own now, and I find myself saying and doing the same things they did when I was a kid. If that could happen, is the curse true that your kids will be worse than you? If so...HELP!!!!

Is anybody out there having the same dilema?

My friend has invited my husband, kids and myself to their bar-b-q they are having this weekend before they move to another state. So, I do want to attend to say goodbye and celebrate with them. Well, she has a rather violent 4 year old autistic son that her mother had custody of, but now he's back with her since last week. The last time I went over to her home, the boy cracked a lamp over my back and laughed about it, then picked up the one of the shards and tried to cut my leg. He also pushed my son down the staircase and threw a FULL trash can at him, once again laughing at the distress he put someone in. I don't want to be rude and not show, but I really am afraid of this boy. What would you do if this was a really good friend who was moving away?

I am hoping to give birth to my first child when I am 24. I am hoping to have two children and to have both children before I turn 30.

My husband will be 27 when our first child is born. When our baby is born we will be together for 7 years and married for 3. We own a home and I have a college degree.

How old were you when you had your first child? Do you wish you had your baby sooner or later than you did? Do you think 24 years is a good age for a baby?

My baby screams whenever his feet (or anyother part of him whether its skin or clothes or hair etc.) touches the sand. He clings to me and wont leave my arms, a towel, or a sand free chair. We're going for a week to the beach soon and I have to get him used to it. Any ideas?

My daughter has a very good friend she made at her new school. They are both almost 12. On Memorial day weekend, we invited her parents who we met in passing in the past but do not really know to come visit while the girls swam in the pool. We had other company as well.

Since then, the parents of the other girl, who are from India will not let their daughter come over now because "we are irresponsible" because they saw us drinking wine and they now don't trust us with their daughter.

My daughter heard this from her friend and is very upset. Should I say something to the parents? Sever the friendship between the girls? They still allow my daughter over to their house? All of a sudden the mother is not very kind to her now.

my daughter's father & i sometimes argue over how to raise & displining our 2.1/2 yr old daughter. we both do agree w/ spanking her when she doesn't listen, sending her to her room, making her sit in time out! but we don't really agree on ignore her when she is getting naughty or starts to not listen! I have learned that yelling at her all the time & spanking her everytime she naughty doesn't always help, so i have started ignoreing her sometimes & she eventually stops! my daughters father yells at her 2 much & gets upset & hot headed way too fast, sometimes im afriad he will hurt her when he loses his temper! like this one day i took her outside to play w/ my neighbors daughter & the 2 of them play rough sometimes well my daughter's father yelled at her, spanked her 3x on the butt & made her sit for a few minutes, while she was sitting her kept repeatly saying she wanted a popcicle, i told her NO & that she was being punished, then ignored her cuz i knew she would stop eventually!

I have a son and honestly I can't really say I love him. I mean you raise them, they become teenagers and think you're stupid, and then they grow up and move out and get married and you're left in the cold.

So what is so rewarding about being a mother again?

My 11 month old ate some cooked eggs from the salad bar at pizza hut yesturday, this was not the first time she had had eggs, but an hour later she had a really bad runny nose, her face turned bright red and she kept rubbing it....she also had red blotches all over. She also seemed frustrated and didn't have much of an appetite after that. She's ok now, not red anymore, but I was wondering is it usually the egg white, or the yolk that babies are usually allergic to? And when is it safe to try to give her eggs again (she'll probably grow out of it). And is there anything I can do for her in the event that she has another reaction (to comfort her)?

I am at my wits end with this and need some advice..I have been divorced from my ex for awhile now and he has pretty much just kept minimal contact with our son. He was in Iraq for a year and came home in Jan.since then i think he has called maybe a total of ten times, and has seen him once.I am remarried to a wonderful man, and my son calls him daddy as this is the only daddy he has pretty much know. We recently had a medical scare and they thought my son had a nonfunction heart murmur, but everything is ok..his father didnt even bother to call during this time to see how he was doing or anything, in fact my sons birthday came and went, and no phone call..my ex is supposed to call every sunday, but we are luck to hear from him once a month..no phone call even on father's day..i have talked to him about this and he says it is too hard on him to call our son, knowing he cant see him..i alway say positive things to my son about his father, but am fed up with him..what should i do??

i have a 13yr old brother who is hanging out with a 20r neighbor. i see something wrong with the relationship but my mom thinks it is ok because he could be hanging out with worse people. so is it just me or is it bad? i think he is not the right person to hang out with him (the way i see him he is rude and selfish) but he is polite in front of my mother. she doesn't believe me when i say it is not a good thing for them to hang out together but allmy mom does is throw thing i did (when i was 19) in my face saying i was not doing well (all i did was go to a party that was stopped by the cops and all of a sudden i am a bad seed). but i was 19 and an adult and my brother is only13! does anyone think he should not hang out with this guy or am i being over protective? i get so frustrated that i want to just wash my hands of the situation. i feel like i know there will be a major desaster and no one believes me. Any Advice?
